Well, I've never been much of a reader after 3rd grade. I'm wondering if anyone here could suggest some good Horror authors and some good books. I'm going to start reading a whole lot more. I'm already looking into books from Stephen King, Clive Barker, H.P. Lovecraft, and Christopher Pike.
I picked up The Shining earlier today as well as A Clockwork Orange(not horror but still a renouned book).
Pro A.

As far as horror goes, I've really only ventured into Dean Koontz and Stephen King. Personally, I think King is better when he doesn't do straight horror and does something way more expensive (Dead Zone, Bag of Bones, Dark Tower).
Remember, to be a good reader, you should read every genre and not just the one you like best. It will make you a better reader overall.

I agree, thus the reason I piked up A Clockwork Orange. Do you have any suggestions for books other than horror?
