Good to see other footbal fans around here *claps*

im a serious Juventus fan! Go JUVE!

BTW Porto have a relativly easy group on paper. ;-)

Shadow Voa
08-30-2005, 07:45 AM
Haha you noticed that aswell, most people who know Porto and those other groups would realize this. Juventus and Benfica would be my second and third choices. Used to like Real Madrid but they are over-rated and stuffed with too many stars.

O.D.S

Used to like Real Madrid but they are over-rated and stuffed with too many stars.
Too many stars and not enough trophys. Although the departure of Figo i approve but not to Inter Milan. Oh well...

Also since Porto won the CL many of their players left, so now its more of a rebuild. You reckon they will do well?

Shadow Voa
08-30-2005, 08:29 AM
Haha Luis Figo my favourite soccer player, I have his Portugal soccer jersey and his number (7 of course). Im also a big fan of Zinedine Zidane who has returned for another shot at France winning the WC.

I think they will do well, they always make me proud when they play lol. I was at a real game with Porto vs Liverpool and those guys amaze me its nice to see them work so well... considering they play together every four years (WC,EC) on the Portugal soccer club as a country.

But your right with players such as (wont name them all) Costinha, Maniche, Nuno Gomes (favourite player on Porto) and Deco gone there is an impact on how the team will play. But they will hopefully retain the skill and some new freshness to the team.

Got any predictions for WC and UC?
I'll say Porto for UC and Portugal for WC.

O.D.S
08-30-2005, 08:58 AM
WC predictions is a difficult one. But ill probably make up my mind in a few days when the next round of qualifications are complete. :-)

As for the CL mmmm. I cant leave out AC Milan or Real Madrid (they always seem to do quite well) Although i want Juventus to win im predicting Barcelona to maybe take it. Lets just wait and see how the teams play on Matchday 1 (ill most likely change my mind again)

Crow
11-03-2005, 07:18 PM
meh, they've gone really downhill, they need a good midfield captain to keep them in order...Keane is gettin on abit now, and someone needs to tell Ronaldo to pass the ball from time to time

They should start with Park more often. Hes a great player, and his passing is awesome. In my opinion, they shouldnt start with Ronaldo at the weekend and bring Scholes back in, and leave Fletcher in there too.

I just hope Ferguson and Keane uplift their team, and I can see Man Utd winning on the weekend. Maybe start a run after that game. Maybe.

Fergie pretty much has job security for the rest of his life unless things go horribly wrong...i think he'll end his career by retiring, probabily in the next few years

Utd's problem is they have good players but they dont work well together, they need more experience in the squad but it seems they are going the opposite way and bringing in young players (Rossi, Fletcher etc...)

hopefully Fergie's signing he has lined up for the end of the season will be an experienced midfielder
