Are there any other Aussies on this forum?
Why do I ask?
I has occoured to me that the Cube is Dead in Australia, very similar to the xbox in Japan. Because of our small size cube support from over here has essentially dried up. It was doing good, with an OK launch a then just stoped moving. A game for the cube has not been on the top 10 for ages, (Zelda could not make top 5) However the GBA is still kicking.
This of course has not been said by nintendo (obviously) but...
Talking to the guys at EB, revealed that they sold hardly any cubes, the Toowoomba store says they would barely sell 1 a month.
The EB catalouge has now relegated the cube too 1 page compared to the PS2's 25 30 pages and the xbox's 15 to 20.
The EB store (Toowoomba has no incoming for the cube anymore)
Blockbuster and Video Easy are selling the few cube games they had to rent.
Thir biggest supporter Harvey Norman who were not supporting the xbox and pubically said it was dead in the water are now supporting the xbox and sell cube games for 50% off in the bargin bin
The Dreamcast Lasted around two and a half years in the Harsh region of Australia, I don't know the cube will even make that.
If nintendo bites the dust and lowers the price too $99 (Aust) $50(US) then that will only maker matters worse. NINTENDO HIT AUSTRALIA WITH SOMETHING BIG NOW DUMB ASSES (from a concearned gamer)
