My beginning Photoshop work

Here are 3 sigs I made on Photoshop. They are in order by when they were made. These are the first sigs I ever done. Anyone have any tips so I can make my sigs better in the future? Thanks :D

NOTE: Shin Akuma is someone from NNow.

I am not an expert with photoshop, but I know a good sig when i see one.
Skull Kid, number 2 and 3 are awesome, you wouldnt even know you was a beginner :)
Do I have to comment on the first sig? :|

The first sig, I was just messing with filters and text effects, that's why it looks........dull.

I like them, but in the Akuma one how the hell did you make scan lines in Photoshop?

I don't completely remember how to do it. Ask Nulshock. He showed me how to do it.

scan lines are easy, make a new document with a width of one pixel and height of 2 pixels. make the top pixel white and the bottom pixel black. the go to edit->define pattern. now go back to ur original image u want the scanlines on, go to layers->new fill layer->pattern->select the 1x2 scanline pattern->hit ok. now you'll have a scanline pattern, now change the blending mode to lighten, screen, or overlay to make the black in the pattern to show through so u can see the image. when using scanlines its good to use the soft light or overlay blending mode, and turn down the opacity a tad. hope that helps dementia

as for the sigs...ur a beginner so i cant tear them to shreads =P but to get you started...dont JUST use filters in your work. cuz using them all the time make ppl like me think thats all you do. expand your designs, and open your mind to new avenues. use others ppls work for examples and references for your own work.

good start so far, but the script font is hard to read because of the glow, either change the font...the font color, or remove the glow. ^_^

First one is too psychadelic :p I like the second, and I think no 3 would look better if you made the scanlines less prominent :)
