Well, basically a DVD burning PS2 complete with hard drive.

PSX (PlayStation X) was the codename when the playstation started as an add-on to the SNES. Even though Nintedo cut the funding, the label 'PSX' just stuck. I guess people like the way 'PSX' sounds over 'PS1'.

yeah, Its called PSP or Playstation Portable. The graphics will be comparable to ps1, but will use smaller discs. Or so I've heard.

Yep. It supposedly has Gamecube styled discs. Sounds pretty nifty..

But, I kinda expected it, seeing as Xbox is speaking of making one, as well. Of course they have to be up to par, otherwise the competition might get harsh.

It is like a computer. 120GB hard drive. DVD-RW Drive. I might buy it but it sounds expenisive.

thats a thousand dollars. way too much. i had to save up for two years to get the PS2, and even then i had to talk my parents into it. im not buying this new shit out. unless its cheaper.

its not a new system, just kind of an evolution

anyway what im waiting for is their portable, sony may win me over yet... (not a big fan of PS2)

Update: It will cost $849.99 USD.

Seeing as how:
PS2= $200
Home DVD burner= $275
TiVo system= $150
Set HD cable box= $150

PSX is the same thingas all those, only $75 more

still too much.

Well, it is more than a console. Read the article, (or my last post in the thread before this one). Its more suited to families rather than gamers. You'd probably have it in the living room as a set top boxor complete entertainment unit.

I dont think this is particually aimed at mainstreem gamers.... i think that sony would do good to only release a few of these as its a loosing indeavor already, if they release alot of them theylll loose money guaranteed cause very few people will be able to buy this that would actually be interested.

Yeah but regardless its not gona sale except to a few rich people cause its just to expensive. Especially when you weigh that you can get most of that in seperat boxes for cheaper.

Itll probably be a hit for the collectors. And for people who would rather not buy all that stuff seperately. Im thankful I got a PS2, I dont know If I could afford another console right now.

slap that on the ps3 and id be happy with the look but other than that i could never buy it.
