karavi, thats insanely good. your style is the one my artwork has evolved into recently. the whole "shading by closely together lines," and the emphasizing outlines by widenining the pen lines.

once the scanner's back again, ill be uploading some comics of mine.

Wow. That's great. :D I really like yours, too. Unfortunately, I'm not that great at lighter work, or drawing "normal" people for that matter. That and I'm pretty bad at painting things. :(

my painting talent faded away, so now when i paint its mostly just abstract randomly-made colors and objects.

drawing everyday things is really boring..its so much more fun to draw things just out of your imagination, because theres never a right or wrong. and if its wrong, then no one would know but you.

either that or drawing people in sadness or pain. woo!

Dude, I completely know what you mean, because my style used to be like your old one, with the "realism" shit. People would always be like "ooh, that's cool, but..." then they'd just rip it outta my work.
Now I've just decided to go abstract and draw whatever the funk I want! Now people can't say it's wrong because maybe I intended that or maybe it felt right...
I thought I was the only one...

Heh, with your 3 GHZ processor you should be able to download Photoshop 7.0 off of Kazaa in no time. Thats how i got the program.
