what are your thoughts on this often controversial subject. Im personally against it, but the prices for an album are goddamn extortionate. its kind of like a double edged sword. If Kazaa was shut down, the music industry would continue to raise the prices of music, but if it wasn't shutdown and everybody gave up buying albums, then there wouldnt be any music. What do you think?

I download all the time. I usually go out and buy the actual album. Most people I know, myself included, buy more CD's since we started downloading music than we did before. We can see if we like it, then, if we do, we go buy it. I see nothing wrong with it.

if they shut down programs and person 2 person programs like kazaa then there will just be more crimes, like stealing and alot more burning and selling the cd's for profit.

FUCK ALL OF THEM!!
I love file sharing. It should never be illegal. The only thing that should be illegal is people selling pirated copies of music, movies, software, etc...

The problem is, I almost never like an entire album, so I always make my own. So I get most of my music off kazaa.

Yeah just like Fox McCloud said it sucks paying for a whole album when you only want one song out of it.

My point exactly, I remember I used to buy an album, and I'd like two or three songs out of 14 or 15...it's a waste....but if you like a good majority of the album then it's cool. I download songs that I like but if I like others by the same group or artist then I buy the album...no biggie

I occasionally download a song or two to see if I like a band, but mostly I go out and by albums. I like having the packaging and CD because I like to collect music.
