do you think that companies who put out online games are focusing on multi player online stuff, vs 1 player offline features?

just an idea

If I interpreted (spelling?) that correctly, then yes. As Nintendo believes, the focus shifting to online software means a neglect of the offline single-player features, which really tends to focus on the heart of the game. I mean, in a single-player offline game, you actually have to build an interesting game, but online titles focus more on the fact that they are played online with other people, relying more heavily on that being the "neat-o" factor. Really, for an online title, you can get away with just slapping together some characters, weapons, items, locations, and possibly non-player stuff to kill. An offline single-player game needs a bit more to it than that to be worth anything.

Ah, nevermind. I think I screwed up this whole thing in such a way as for my whole post to make no sense. I knew what I was trying to say, but I think I just botched it all up.

naw i get what ur saying, but you think nintendo is just afraid to make a good game. They keep putting out half assed games like mario and shit. Finally they are puttin out decent games, but why not add online, N would own the gaming industry with online

I think Nintendo need's to do what they do for the single player greatness, and maybe add a month or two onto the release date and toss in some online. I mean...downloadable quests and levels would be a start.

i agree. i think nintendo could go online with their single player games and have downloadable content. at least that would show that they are going with the times. with the large nintendo following that they have, they could easily make profit--jeez, just throw pokemon online and watch revenue roll in :o

What do you mean how? Downloadable Quests? You get a modem or broadband adapter and then every month or two Nintendo makes another F-Zero GX Track, a Mario Golf course, or even another mini-dungeon in Wind Waker are some ideas.

perhaps an expanded memory to store the downloadable content. it would be an extra item to purchase, but if i knew they would be dedicated to consistently putting out quality downloads i would buy it.

back to the question that was asked. i definitly think more and more games are being geared twoards online play and giving a horrible single player game. ghost recon comes to mind for me, it could be a solid single player title but they just dropped the ball on it.

If you haven't noticed, PSO can download quests and stuff, it's really not that big.

whole maps are huge!
but anyways I would buy a external HD for online, but not for DL content.
