Gamer's Slump

You heard me, I'm in the middle of one. I can barely bring myself to turn on my PS2 or GC, they just lost their appeal all of a sudden. I've practically beaten every game I own, and I can't force myself to redo any of them. For some odd reason though, I keep playing Pokemon Silver, it's just got that replay value I guess. Actually the only game I do play now is SSBM, but rarely, and only to test my skills against three level nine CPU's....

Meh, just thought I'd share.

I feel the same way, i need some new games but i dont know what to get. I wish socom 2, mgs3, fable, halo 2, half life 2 etc were here then i would never be bored again.

ive gone back to ps1 games lately. thps2 has called me, as well as parappa the rapper. mmm...in the rain or in the snow, got the funky flow, but now i really gotta go.

Game magazines are so lame. They often give crap scores to games that are excellent, but won't sit well with a mainstream audience (Rez, for example was treated this way). They do this because if a mainstream gamer buys a game meant for a different audience because of positive reviews, they may not enjoy the game. This unhappy mainstream gamer, will be upset at the magazine for such a positive review, and go on to play their Madden 20XX or whatever the hell mainstreamers play.

Sadly, it seems like mainstream gamers seem to outnumber true gamers 4 to 1, which is why it is economically beneficial for Game magazines to cater to that audience. GAMEFAN is a prime example of a magazine that did not, especially because it went out of business.

Another gripe I have with magazines are when they hype up a game so much (EGM did this with games such as Enter the Matrix, MGS2, GTA3, and Soul Calibur 2), and months later publish articles about good games people didn't buy.

dementia - Rock on. MGS2 was pretty badass, though...

Anyway - I pick up whatever catches my fancy. Whether it's mainstream or not, if it looks good, I'll usually get it. Though, I'm really picky, if I don't like one thing, I usually end up getting pissed off and annoyed with the game halfway through and just stop playing.

Needless to say - That's happened a lot to me lately, so I haven't been playing many games. That, and, I have absolutely no money right now.

Therefore, I suppose I'm in a slump too.

Yes I know, that is why i want it. plus if i had to work at a fast food place or something like that it would suck, id be bored out of my mind all the time. At least I'll be comfortable inside a Gamestop, and on really slow days, when no one is watching, im sure ill be able to play the systems they have hooked up. Ahhh, its always been my dream to have the keys to one of those things...
