I love Nintendo. I can not go on with video games without them.

I am at work. And I currently have nothing to do. The internet has a filter so I can't access anything of my interests. Luckily, these forums slip through the system. Therefore, i must make do.

Yeah, without the innovation of Nintendo I would of quit playing video games a long time ago, or i would play old Nintendo games all the time.

i find that BS because ur saying u wouldnt play a great final fantasy game from sony or a new halo game on xbox if nintendo reaches teh level of extinction?

no, what i'm saying is I have to have games that are new and different, which nintendo has always done. True they have games that are like ones before them which i play but out of all my games the ones i play most are Animal Crossing, Pikmin, and anything else that is new. Yeah i do play games like Halo and I have never actually owned a Final Fantasy game... I've only ever had Nintendo systems and the closest FF game i have is Mystic Quest, which after a while i find too repetitive. It may of been harsh to say i wouldn't play video games anymore but wouldn't be nearly as into it as i am and always have been.
And I also meant before this gen..... had N64 not come out i would of got a PS but i wouldn't of gotten a PS2 right away like i did a GCN. I probably would of stuck with my SNES, my still favorite system to this day. I bought my GCN the day it came out at 12:12 AM... stood in line for 2 hours @ Wal-Mart just to make sure i got one of the 37 systems they received.

Yeah, I didn't get the GameCube the day it came out. I waited until the day Melee came out. I had preordered my system, Melee, Luigi's Mansion, Wave Race, and other accessories, so that I was guaranteed one in the second shipment that came in.
Nintendo is pretty good with innovating games, and it seems like, with the upcoming Nintendo DS system, that they are about to set a standard for innovating handheld gaming. Think about the dual screens and the possibilities for both of them. What they are about to do with the DS is take it and make it better than both the GameCube and the GBA put together. Maybe not graphically. And if they're going to include extra features like movie playback (like rumored), then more people are going to buy it. With the wireless LAN capabilities and everything, Nintendo is set to innovate the handheld world, and it is certainly going to give the PSP a run for its money.
As far as games go, Nintendo has done some pretty good work innovating titles, and I'm sure that one upcoming title that's going to be innovative is Mario 128. Nintendo set the standard for platform gaming in Super Mario 64. After Super Mario Sunshine wasn't as good as everyone wanted it to be (and, of course, not innovative), gamers are going to want a little more innovation in the next Mario game. Nintendo is going to deliver something that is going to once again innovate and set the standards for platform gaming, for the next generation of consoles. Other titles that we've seen innovative are Animal Crossing. Yeah, it's a lot like The Sims, but, it's still a pretty well rounded, innovative title. Mario Kart: Double Dash is sort of innovative, in the way that it introduces 2 players per kart, something that has never been done before in a kart-racing game. Wind Waker was innovative in its superior graphic style, which easily outbeat every other cell shaded game.
Nintendo is innovative, and they've got many different reasons backing it. I can't wait to see what they do with the DS, I'm pretty sure they are going to have several good ideas put to work. If only November would come sooner.

I could do fine without nintendo the gamecube pisses me off in some games that i think would be alot better on another system. Like MGS Twin Snakes. I beat it the first time through in 2 days easy, but the buttons suck on gamecube becuase there not pressure sensitive so when your aiming in first person mode it will switch in and out of first and third person mode sometimes and it is really irritating. Also not that many games I like on GC.

Quit yer damn bitchin'. You got your MGS 2, so ease off with your cuntin'.
Asarien also owes SEGA a lot to the innovative industry as well. Crazy Taxi, JGR, NiGHTS, Samba De Amigo, Shinobi, and lets not forget the shooters. Well... Nintendo started that, but SEGA perfected it. :indeed:
PhoenixBlade

Yeah. But if Sega wants to continue the Crazy Taxi franchise, they're gonna need some innovation in Crazy Taxi 4, if it exists.

I think Crazy Taxi is done. Nothing else can be added to it.

I'm sure new things could be added to it. Sega just hasn't thought of them yet.

Perhaps more cities. SEGA always had a problem with a lack of stages. Virtua Cop only had three. And they weren't long.

They can always add a lawsuit. As i'm sure you all know, they sued the makers off the Simpson's Roadrage for being too similar to Crazy Taxi, which in all reality it was.
Gummy
03-23-2004, 05:05 AM
meh they can lose if they sue The Simpsons.
PhoenixBlade
03-23-2004, 05:30 AM
Well, Road Rage was kind of a copy of Crazy Taxi, but, when has Sega copied other franchises? Everything in the gaming world is alike, and there are some instances where some things are brand new ideas. But for the most part, a lot of the different franchises are just copy cats of other franchises. You don't see Nintendo suing Naughty Dog for making Jak and Daxter or Crash Bandicoot like Mario. Sega was kind of stupid with that lawsuit.

i think they just want their name out :/
PhoenixBlade
03-23-2004, 02:15 PM
How would that be getting their name out? You don't see "Original idea by Nintendo" in every platformer that's like Mario, do you?
Asarien
03-27-2004, 09:37 PM
Well, True Crime is very similar to GTA, and Rockstar didn't sue anyone. I believe that once an original title has emerged, developers should all know that other developers will take ideas and mix them with their own ideas. There's no helping that. That's business.
ur saying if nintendo wasn't around you wouldn't play anything anymore?

to tell the truth I only played one ff game in my whole life. I could go play some final fantasy on snes if I want, or buy ff7. But I never cared too.
As for halo, well I could go without halo. Halo for me was overrated, well the multiplayer was. I don't want to deal with xbconnect, and I don't have no 16 friends to make the game fun. Having 3 or 4 friends over to play halo, isn't even all that fun. I rather just play me some mario kart with 3 or 4 friends. Or I rather just play some perfect dark on my n64. At least you could hold 2 guns in that game.
edit: Nintendo is my favorite developer. Once they're gone, gaming will never feel right again. I would eventually stop playing games if nintendo ever is gone.

Nintendo won't be gone. And if they are, it'll be when the videogame business was a thing of the past, and that's not going to happen for a long time. A really long time.

GHEAY!
I am not an XBox guy, and I hate Microsoft, but Halo is the most awesome FPS game there is on any console.
Granted, TS2, 007 and Perfect Dark were extremely good, they are now simply out dated. I tried playing Golden Eye the other day... It was so slow and choppy I just about died! Literally nearly had a seizure. It sucked.
So don't go dissing Halo just cause you suck at FPSs.

He didnt neccisarily dis it, he just stated that it wasn't a type of game he liked. I'm with him though, i'm not a big FPS fan, although i still enjoy playing them with friends, and I have played Halo. I liked the game, the big levels and what not, but i dont think its the best game ever like most people hype it up to be (or atleast a lot of the guys on my CC team do and in some forums i've been to).

Treasure, Smilebit, and Hitmaker are the shit. Creativily, they own Nintendo.

Smilebit has very few American release titles. Most of their work are sports games released only in Japan. But I do like 'em.

Well, I really like Smilebit for the Jet Set Radio series, and considering the original Panzer Dragoon Team split up a while ago, Smilebit did a decent job ressurecting the series for the Xbox.

They did that too, eh? They made one error though... it's on X-Box.

That's because that style game is specific for Xbox. It looked really nice, too.
Asarien
04-24-2004, 11:30 PM
I honestly didn't think it suited the console at all. With all the X-Box fanatics saying that X-Box is "all about real graphics and 'adult' games", JSRF just seemed completely out of place.
I would type that that game would look best on GCN if I weren't feared of a bashing and being branded a GCN fanboy. In which I am...
PhoenixBlade
04-26-2004, 12:02 PM
I've never heard anyone mention anything about the Xbox being all about "real graphics and adult games."

I have. All the time rather.
But more-so at the beginning of this generation than now.
