I do. Just look at games like Crazy Taxi that can't be remade to be different, but somehow there are many of those titles... Do you see the same thing happening with other games as well?

Not necessarily quality, but more so reason.
Y'see... Now-a-days in which every game needs to generally have a story or plot (as opposed to earlier generations with Super Mario or Sonic The Hedgehog where players advance through levels with no explination of why or reason) to be intriguing, the reason for sequels have changed.
In earlier days, a sequel used to stand for a higher difficulty, longer gameplay, and improved enviroments (Contra, Super Mario, DKC, etc.), but has now changed to mean a continuation of a story, plot, character, or situation (Shenmue & Shenmue II). However, many developers are taking sequels for granted and decide to make them solely because the first was a complete success. Which usually leads to a game with non-sensical plots and out-of-place characters (Devil May Cry 2).

maybe not so much quality..but more so hype. Halo wasn't hyped much before launch. Halo 2 has been hyped so much I think that it will be impossible to live up to the hype.
This is also seen in the Metal Gear franchise.

Metal Gear has always lived up to the hype i think. Never has there been a metal gear solid game that was a let down to me. I even have the new GC one and i beat it in 2 days but its not a let down. (oh wait maybe metal gear VR misssions would be considered a let down lol).
