the N5 (name for the new nintendo system, for the time being) is coming out in 2006, so I doubt it'll be the first one....but it's the only new system I've seen news on. = \ I don't care which one comes out first.

Nintendo knows the importance of being among the first available to the public. For that, my thinking is that they will push to be the first.

But I don't understand why everyone is so anxious for the next generation. No wonder all three companies keep pushing back the dates of their successor consoles each time they talk about their plans. This generation is still strong and is not showing any signs of slowing down, and not anytime soon either.

Asarien predicts an early 2007 pushback for all three o' them.

i like the idea of not spending 300 dollars on another system when they still havent produced games to push the capabilities of the current systems to the max.

Whether we like it or not, we're not going to see any of them release until at least 2006. And I believe the first one will end up being the Xbox 2. Microsoft is probably pushing it right now to get it out as early as possible.

And just to be a smartass, the first one that's really being released is the DS. :D

Sheesh... ya'll really don't follow this stuff! I haven't been following it, but I still know.

N5 was scheduled to come out November 2004, but after Microsoft and Sony pushed their release dates back to 2006-2007, Nintendo also pushed it back to 2005. They're trying to get the market for a good year before the other next-gen systems come out.

You fool. Nintendo didn't puch back the release date because of Sony or Microsoft. They pushed it back because sales of the consoles this generation aren't slowing down yet. And that goes for Sony and Microsoft as well.
