Why no hype for Half Life 2?

This is supposedly the biggest game to be released this year and its scheduled to come out in less than 15 days but i havnt heard anything about it in a few months...unless im mistaken about the release date i wonder why there hasnt been a mass market advertisment for it or something along that lines.

Because its not going to make its Sept 30th date thats for sure. More like mid-November.

The game has been in development for 5 years so i doubt that they would just guess a release date.

They didn't guess a date...it was an estimate, and they could have run into a problem along the way that is setting the targetted date back.

If it was going to come out September 30th we would see commercials and advertisments and a press release of the game going gold/shipping, etc.

The first Half Life went gold like five days before they released.

Meh. Doesn't look like something I'll be getting. Only FPS's I'm looking forward to are Halo 2 and Republic Commando...

Half Life 2 = FPS God.

People have been more hyped about Halo 2.....hmm. Half-Life 2 is sooo much bigger and will own Halo 2 IMO. I'm looking forward to Geist yes, but I don't expect that to be anything groundbreaking, just a unique FPS.
