I think one reason Xbox live is outselling Playonline so much is because Sony never has any network adapters in stores! And since most PS2 gamers are mainstream, they dont feel like buying it online or whatever.

I wonder how much Everquest online will help out Playonline. Since there are hundreds of thousands of nerds that play the PC version hours every day.

It won't. The nerds will stay with the PC, more than likely.

Also, XBox advertised their service much more than PS2 did...so it's probably going to outsell it for a long time.

Shining Lore is coming to the XBox; there are 100,00 more people in Korea that play the game than there is all of people who play Everquest.

Maybe its just me but i have never seen any advertisement whatsoever for XBOX Live outside of any store. I havnt even seen a commercial (and i watch a hella lot of tv). But i have seen that Socom navy seals online game for ps2 commercial plenty of times.

I will admit though that i think xbox live has the best chance for console gaming but i will still never get it because i will NEVER pay to play online. Even if Mario Kart is Online and you only have to pay 1 cent a month i still wont pay it.

I've seen about the same amount of advertisements for each online plan. Xbox LIVE is just more solid that is the only reason why it's been bought more. I don't think the online gaming will get big until the next generation of systems.

I've seen the MechAssault commercial like 50 times...and it goes "No power is greater than X" and then "Play this game on XBOX LIVE!!!"

Yes, I've seen that quite a few times...while I have only seen the SOCOM one (which is awesome, by the way) like 5 max.

They don't have a specific commercial for it, but at the end of every commercial for an online X-box game (and believe me, there's a bunch) it will say "Play against the world with X-Box Live!"

I would pay one cent a month to play Mario Kart online... I'd only be hardcore into the title for about two months anyway.

Beta testers submit positive feedback on Microsoft's online gaming service.

Official beta testing for Microsoft's Xbox Live online gaming service in Japan closed today after two months of testing. More than 5,000 users participated in the beta, and out of those 5,000, 90 percent said they will continue to use the service when it's launched in Japan on January 16. In addition, when asked about favorite Xbox Live features in a beta survey, 90 percent said the voice communication was the best feature of the service, though the friends list and gamertag features were also quite popular.
