Name for "modern"

They came out with the original NES (Nintendo Entertainment System). Later, after they stopped making games for it, and it wasn't around anymore, they came out with a more "modern" version of it. It was smaller than the original, and you could put games in the top of it (where as w the old one, you had to put games inside it). Anyone know what the newer version of the NES is called?
