I've always had this doubt in the back of my mind that many historians just make up a lot of what they say. The first language that was depicted to having any sort of sense was created by the Phoenicians, which was a 'simplified' version to them of Cuneiform. Cuneiform was a 600 'letter' alphabet. Well, it was basically just little dots, and strange doodles.. (to us).
Historian's/others say that they figured out the dialect. These are people from our modern world, they say they're "brilliant" people who can distinguish what is what in Cuneiform. Somehow I find it absolutely ridiculous. These people sit there, and start with absolutely nothing, there's nothing to go off of or establish between different forms of writing. And yet, they say they can figure it out. Unless it's just great guesswork, I don't see how it's possible.
Maybe I'm too logical, but to me it seems as if many people made up a lot of what was said in Babylonian times. (Where Cuneiform was created).. There are too many missing pieces to the puzzle. I can definitely see someone sitting at a little table pounding their head and then deciding that they were going to make it up to get the money and to get the hell out of their little office.
Another thing that tends to get to me is evolution. It's been proven numerous times, been shown, the dates and such can be dated back years and years and years ago. Of course, there had to be some way we got here in the first place, whether we evolved or not. The Garden of Eden lies right where Iraq, etc. are now. It was supposed to be a place filled with beautiful things, and then of course God got pissed off and changed all that. But, it's been shown, that there was a lot more to it even before that. It makes me raise an eyebrow to many things, someone can say something and it would be put into a history textbook, no one would have any damned clue whether it was true or not. Then, after that, it would continue on as our 'history'..
Oh well, I'm just rambling. I've been reading a lot and all of that built up in my head.
