I just don't like macs too much. I'd rather build a computer for 1,299. By the way, the web site you posted says they start at like 1,799...
Sorry everybody, that's the Canadian dollars.
In US dollars they start at $1299. Pimp on :):):)

yea they sacrifice the little things for the beauty. Im a Pc owner myself :)
How would you customize that? Or upgrade it? Weres the floppy? No two cd/dvd drives for burning?
Well, take of 3 screws on the back and the whole back comes apart, allowing you to add new ram (up to 2 gigs), add an airport card, etc.
And it's an all-in-one system, no allinones have 2 drives... not even pc's. Plus the one it's got is a superdrive (cd burning, dvd read, drd burning).
apple always rips people off on the amount of RAM they give you. i thought they would have known that 512mb is the standard now.
I agree with you... 512megs is the standard now. I got my PowerBook upgraded to 512 and it runs smooth as butter now... But it's like 1300 US, that's amazingly priced considering it includes a 17inch LCD monitor and a great processor (G5 is officially a supercomputer by US federal regulations). All in an all-in-one design, the Apple designers had to squeeze all of that into such a small case.
I think it's amazingly priced at 1300US.
yea they sacrifice the little things for the beauty. Im a Pc owner myself
Nope actually. It's an all-in-one system for 1300US, that's pretty fucking amazing. If you want the RAM upgraded, spend an extra 50 bucks and upgrade it... But I think they should have just priced it at 1350 and added 256megs of ram, it would have been easier for most users :)
But nothing else is sacrificed, compared to a PC. A SuperDrive, 2 high-end speakers, an LCD and an 80gig hard drive, as well as an AirPort Extreme card slot, 3 USB ports and 2 FireWire ports (actually 5 USB ports, 2 on the keyboard as well, another thing only from Apple :) ) for what, 1300US? Pretty damn good, I think.
But if you're into PC that's just fine, I still use my PC for gaming and stuff, I just use my PowerBook when I want to be uninterrupted by crashes and shit.

i, personally, do not like macs.. if i were to spend 1,300 bucks on a comp, i would defineitly get a customized alienware
Sure Macs look sooo good!!! and everything, but I think that Apple should spend some time improving their already aesthetically pleasing products into actually productive personal computers able to perform at the peak of perfection.
Wow, what wordplay!

Yes, that was wordplay. But Macs are actually faster than PCs. When the G4 processor shipped out of the US (G4 was last generation, G5 is this generation of Mac processors) it was classified as a supercomputer by US customs and Apple couldn't ship it out of the country. The US had to rewrite all the computer shipping-out rules so that the G4 wasn't considered a supercomputer anymore :) . As far as I know no PC has ever been called a supercomputer.
And it shows, my PowerBook runs Call of Duty about 3x faster than my high-end PC. Believe it or not, my PowerBook is amazing :D

He speaks the truth.
He speaks the truth.
What do Alienwares have than Macs don't? A $$800 Alienware (For that's what the iMac is without the screen) isn't half as good as the iMac. I doubt you could even build an Alienware for $800 without maybe putting a Celeron in and decreasing the RAM to 250MB...
Like it or not the iMac is extremely good.

You can do exactly the same thing with the iMac. Up to 2gigs of RAM, up to 160gig harddrive, Wi-Fi card, etc.

Right you are. Alienwares are a case from heaven with parts from the dungeon. A general rule of thumb is to multiply the Mac GHz by 3 to get the Intel GHz, making the 1.8GHz iMac a motherfuckin' 4.4GHz Intel. G4's, Apple's last-gen processor, is considered a fucking supercomputer by the US of A.
But we're getting off topic, what about the iMac G5?

What do you think is lacking from Apple products, Cats?
Compatability.
Real Full-screened windows.
Windows XP (haha!)
Right-click (yeah, I know you can get different mice.)
A fast way to hide all of your windows (all the Macs I've used have been 'Hide Others' and 'Hide This' only, I think.)
Room for expansion (of course this doesn't apply to the Macs that have actual towers.)
A more intuitive operating system.
I mean I'm probably just used to Windows, but I really find it annoying that depending on which program you're running at the time, the menu bar is different. I like how the Windows taskbar stays consistent, and a completely separate menu bar is used at the top of each program.
But speaking of the tower Macs, why aren't they making more of those?
Sure these new and interesting all-in-one designs look great, but they seem to be very much a novelty thing.
It's a good sales tactic though.
Buy an iMac.
Ooh! another new design!
Buy that new one also.
Ooh! another new design!
Buy that new one also.
Ooh! another new design!
Run out of money.
Because who's going to buy an iMac when there are much better versions of the same thing?
But most of all it's just personal preference that prevents me from wanting a Mac.
I'm used to Windows, and it has become something of a second nature to me.
I also like to run the majority of programs and games.
Something has to be said for my tolerating of Windows killing itself and having to reinstall it over and over again.

Compatibility is an issue with you? Well then, you'll be surprised to know that Microsoft originally released Office exclusively for Mac and then eventually ported it over to Windows. But to this day Office still comes out first on Macs. Office 2004 is out for Mac, I got it in June. Office 2004 isn't out for Windows, by far. And most games nowadays are Mac-compatible, because the Mac really shines in gaming. My petit 12-inch PowerBook is about 3x faster than my high-end tower PC when it comes it games. So compatibility isn't an issue at all :)
If you want a fucking full-screen window, just make the window full-screened yourself and when you push the resize button it remembers fullscreen. Jeez.
I don't even know why you'd consider Windows being a better OS than OS X. That's just sad, dude.
A faster way of hiding all your windows? Mac invented that, dude. It's called expose. Push F11 and all your windows minimize, push again and they reappear.
And Macs are plenty expandable. I just got 256MB of RAM put in my PB, making it 512 altogether. PowerBooks support up to 2gigs of ram, whereas most PC's are non-ram upgradeable. And also Macs have much more accessories than Windows. Because Apple is so intuitive and cool, there are a lot of 3rd party developers like Jenny Ozz, who will put beads on the back of your 12-inch iBook. And I'm talking real diamonds here, it's a $5000 job for the diamonds :)
I'm ROTFL about your more intuitive OS comment... anybody who's ever used a Mac and a PC for at least 2 hours will undoubtedly pick the Mac. The shortcuts are waaay easier to use. Apple+Q=quit program. Apple+W=close window. Apple+R=Reload page.... I could go on forever but the fact is that if you look at any XP vs OS X comparison you'll see that OS X always wins by at least a mile.
About the iMac comment: The iMacs change a fuck of a lot each time. The original iMac was a G3 and around 300MHz. Then they came out with the snazzy half-circle-as-a-base design, those were G4's up to 1.25GHz. The G5's are up to 1.8GHz. So they change a lot each time. A lot.
And I don't blame you for the personal preference. But once you try OS X for any period of time, you'll fall in love. When I first tried Macs I was like WTF these suck. But after about 30mins I was in love. :)

I doubt it run Call of duty faster if your x86 computer is indeed high end. PCs non-RAM upgradable?!? I highly doubt that comment from laptop to desktop.
Accessories? Macs have more?! You can get Falcon Northwest to paint an orginal mural from an artist upon which they will give it a glossy automobile finish. They even did a solid gold case for a rich cusomter in the middle east.
I would like to see a report of the FLOPs performance that would rank this system over another system based on intel's Pentium 4/M , or AMD's athlon 64. In speed tests, PCs beat MACs in gaming. Macs usually win in optimized photoshop tests, but that is a given being that they are OPTIMIZED! I still refuse to pay that much for an Apple system when I could be so much more in a PC system for less of a price.
People state windows is buggy and secutiry vulnerable. The reasons? Windows has to support everything from hardware to software, Macs already know what they will have in them and have a much more limited band of products and softwares that need serious attention to support. For secutiry, if the MAC or Linux OS were main stream and occupied 90% of the world's computers, you would see a landslide of vulnerblities as users find them and exploit them, just like Windows based PC.
I do not condone mac uses, sure that are blue-ish and look sleek....
But I believe PCs are a better value in performance and adaptablity.
Compatibility is an issue with you? Well then, you'll be surprised to know that Microsoft originally released Office exclusively for Mac and then eventually ported it over to Windows. And what about the rest of the programs that I might want to use?
There's no denying the fact that Macs do not support everything, and that could be a problem.
I admit I've never experienced it yet, but I know I wont with Windows (with the exception of Mac-only programs.)
If you want a fucking full-screen window, just make the window full-screened yourself and when you push the resize button it remembers fullscreen. Jeez.
I mean real full screen.
Where the not only is the window at the full-screen size, but it is also docked in position.
It's just a little thing that annoys me.
I don't even know why you'd consider Windows being a better OS than OS X. That's just sad, dude.
I never said that I thought Windows was better.
I just prefer Windows over OS X.
A faster way of hiding all your windows? Mac invented that, dude. It's called expose. Push F11 and all your windows minimize, push again and they reappear.
Ok, thanks.
And thanks to Moses who posted it just before you.

Oh, and:
...whereas most PC's are non-ram upgradeable.
WHAAAT?!?
I'm ROTFL about your more intuitive OS comment... anybody who's ever used a Mac and a PC for at least 2 hours will undoubtedly pick the Mac. The shortcuts are waaay easier to use. Apple+Q=quit program. Apple+W=close window. Apple+R=Reload page.... I could go on forever but the fact is that if you look at any XP vs OS X comparison you'll see that OS X always wins by at least a mile.
Oh, because Windows has complex shortcuts.
Alt+F4=Close Window
F5=Refresh Page
Right there, the refresh shortcut requires one less key press.
Of course that's just an insignificant detail, but my point is that just because an operating system has shortcuts doesn't mean it's automatically more intuitive.
My opinion of intuivity is based on my having used Windows for most of my computer days.
And also based on the fact that when you close a program in Windows, it CLOSES.
As opposed to Macs, where just the window closes, but the program remains open, forcing you to close that also.
But I like the way you didn't back this point up further.
A lot.
Yes they do.
My point was that they make them so that many people will buy them based on the design.
Like I said, it's a good sales tactic.
And I don't blame you for the personal preference. But once you try OS X for any period of time, you'll fall in love. When I first tried Macs I was like WTF these suck. But after about 30mins I was in love. :)
Well, I've been forced to use macs for many hours at school and I can honestly say that I still don't like them much.
Like I said, it's a preference and experience thing.
But I will say one good thing about Macs.
I sure can draw a perfectly straight line (freehand) in Photoshop on a Mac.
But then again, Macs may not be as sensitive as PCs.
Also, what's the deal with Macs and PCs?
Both are 'Personal Computers', but we only call one a "PC".

i have a tip for all of you, next time you guys make a thread about a pc or a mac, stick it in the mature forum :p
It should be stuck in the Mac discussion forum actually. Oh wait, there isn't a Mac Discussion? Hmm, well that certainly says something...
I doubt it run Call of duty faster if your x86 computer is indeed high end. PCs non-RAM upgradable?!? I highly doubt that comment from laptop to desktop.
Actually Call of Duty runs about 3x smoother on my Mac than on my PC. My PC is a year old and quite high-end, with a 2GHz Pentium 4 processor and a 64MB graphics card. And yet my little PowerBook maintains CoD at a silky 50-60FPS whereas the PC is about 15-20FPS. And with a PC laptop you can't upgrade the RAM yourself, you have to take it in. With a Mac you just unscrew 4 screws and you can put in more RAM. And G5's support up to 8GB RAM, I highly doubt any PC can do that.
Accessories? Macs have more?! You can get Falcon Northwest to paint an orginal mural from an artist upon which they will give it a glossy automobile finish. They even did a solid gold case for a rich cusomter in the middle east.[quote]
And Macs do have more accessories. Think about it for a sec, Macs are all made by the same company, Apple, unlike Windows PC's which are made by numerous companies. This means that people who design Mac accessories can design them exclusively for one kind of desktop/laptop, whereas Windows designers have to design the accessory for either one specific company (ie Sony) or they can design a product for all computers, but it might not fit all comps or match the color scheme. Believe it or not, Mac has much more accessories than any Windows PC. You mentioned that Falcon Northwest will paint a mural on your laptop? It's only one brand probably, because the logo will get in the way on some comps. So if suddenly nobody buys that brand anymore, Falcon Northwest is out of business. But Apple will never go out of business. It's got a 4+billion dollar surplus and more devoted fans than Windows will ever had (note the word devoted).

*SIGH* If you want proof that Mac is faster, look here: http://macvspc.info/ . Have you worked with Macs and PC's extensively? No? Then please don't comment on what you don't know about. I have been gaming on Macs and PC's since forever, and trust me, Macs are always faster. Always.
LMAO! I notice you didn't even bother contesting the claim that PC's are buggy and crash often, you just justified it. LMFAO!!!! Anyways, Mac has quite a lot of software for it, and it supports all of that flawlessly. Why? Because the OS is much more stable. I have yet to find a program that is for PC that isn't for Mac. Office? Mac-compatible, in fact the Mac version is better than the PC version and is released first. PhotoShop? Do I even need to answer this one... Games? Pretty much all games come out for Mac. UT2004, Call of Duty, you name it. PC's don't actually support that much more software, that's a myth that PC users cling to to try to scare away Mac addicts. And if Macs were dominant, they still would never crash. Why? Because they're UNIX based. Don't even try arguing that PC's are more reliable, because it ain't going to happen. And Macs come with more drivers than Windows PC's, virtually every accessory ever made, from mice to camcorders, just works when you plug it in.
And what about the rest of the programs that I might want to use?
There's no denying the fact that Macs do not support everything, and that could be a problem.
I admit I've never experienced it yet, but I know I wont with Windows (with the exception of Mac-only programs.)
You're right, Mac doesn't support everything, but it does support the majority of programs, including almost all games which are eventually ported over to PC. So there is less of a library for Mac, but most of it's there. I personally have yet to find a program I would like to buy that's PC-only, and went 'bummer'. All consumer products are available for Mac, just some of the more obscure ones for helping people quit tobacco using electrical pulses from your comp aren't there ;)
I mean real full screen.
Where the not only is the window at the full-screen size, but it is also docked in position.
It's just a little thing that annoys me.
You're right, that's a flaw with OS X. I don't really mind it because I just made all the windows as big as possible when I first bought my PowerBook.
I mean expandable in the way of extra CD/DVD drives, Floppy disk drives, those sound cards that have the panel with the dials and stuff.
The G5 is expandable, you can get up to 3 drives (I think) and there's also 4 PCI cards, where you can put in the fancy sound cards, or graphics cards or whatever. But floppy disks are dated and so Mac doesn't include them, since all of their comps can burn CDs now.
WHAAAT?!?
Sorry, I meant laptops. You can't upgrade the RAM in laptops unless you open the entire laptop up, whereas in a Mac laptop you just unscrew 4 screws and a panel opens up so you can install RAM yourself.
Oh, because Windows has complex shortcuts.
Alt+F4=Close Window
F5=Refresh Page
The fact that all Windows shortcuts have different configurations (some are ctrl+something, some are alt+something, some are f1-f12) means that people are less likely to use them. In a Mac all shortcuts use the Apple key so practically all Apple users know them because they're easy to learn. It's the apple key plus the first letter of the shortcut, usually. Examples: Quit: apple+q. close Window: apple+w. Refresh= Apple+r. Minimize=Apple+m. Everything just makes sense. And if you want a program to keep running in OS X, you click the close button and it runs in the background, if you want to close the program all together you push apple+q or go to the menu. In Windows, some programs close but some minimize to the taskbar and keep running. Whereas in Mac you can control if you want the window closed or the entire program closed. I personally find Windows annoying because some programs minimize to the taskbar and some just close altogether. Once you get used to OS X you can't imagine anything better:)
Yes they do.
My point was that they make them so that many people will buy them based on the design.
Like I said, it's a good sales tactic.
Yeah, you're right I guess, the design gets waaay snazzier each time. But the parts are also majorly changed, it's not like they stay the same each revision.
But I will say one good thing about Macs.
I sure can draw a perfectly straight line (freehand) in Photoshop on a Mac.
But then again, Macs may not be as sensitive as PCs.
Yeah, I find the mouse is a lot less jumpier in Mac OS X than in Windows. I thought it was just me, thanks, now I know there's actually a difference.
Also, what's the deal with Macs and PCs?
Both are 'Personal Computers', but we only call one a "PC".
I think it's because Microsoft called their Windows comp a Personal Computer and Mac didn't steal that, unlike the stuff that Microsoft's stole from Mac... *AHEM*
Nukeblaze:
And Apple always, always comes out with the major innovations first. Take expose, a feature in Panther. Just push F9 and you see all your open windows, you can then click the one you want to view and it goes to the front. F11 minimizes all open windows. What if you want to find detailed info about every part of your comp? Apple menu --> About this Mac. It shows you everything about your comp. And I mean everything. RAM, clock speed, graphics card, what's connected to all your ports and specs on those. Windows has something similar, but does it show what graphics card? No, you have to go to Display to find out what kind of fucking graphics card you have. WTF? If you search for 'graphics card' it comes out with graphics settings in the help menu. Again, WTF? Windows is much harder to use than Mac. Who started the wireless revolution? It was Apple again, with AirPort. And Apple continues to lead the revolution, with Wireless-G built in to all PowerBooks and available in all Macs. Who started the digital music revolution? It was Apple, with the original iPod. How about online song purchases? Apple, with iTunes. With over 1 000 000 songs available, it leads all download services, with about 70% of the market share. Laptops? Mac started that as well, with the original PowerBooks. Shortcuts? Mac started that yet again. And they're a lot fucking easier to use in OS X than in XP. To quit a program, apple logo+q. Logical, the Q stands for quit and the apple logo key accompanies all shortcuts. Guess what quit is in Windows? It's alt+F4. What the fucking hell is that shit? Some Windows shortcuts use the Control, some use the Alt, some use fucking shift. And who the fuck would have though F4 standed for quite? Again, What the fuck. Who started all-in-one desktops? Apple, with the iMac G3. And they still lead, with the iMac G5. Who started FireWire, the fastest comp-to-comp file transfer system? Apple, again. Start to see a pattern here? Hmm... Who started fucking icon-based OSes? Apple, again?
Face it, Apple is the real innovator in the personal computing industry, Microsoft just copies them. What has Microsoft come out with first? Ahh, I know, awful OSes from day 1. Without Apple, Windows would just be the same version over again, because I seriously doubt Microsoft engineers have intelligence more than a peanut.

usb 2.0 is faster than firewire
No it isn't Brudaman, actually. FireWire lets the hard drive and peripheral communicate directly, but with USB the info has to go through the operating system. Look here: http://www.usb-ware.com/firewire-vs-usb.htm . Or here: http://www.firewire-1394.com/firewire-vs-usb.htm
And please respond to my superlong post above!

In theory, firewire is faster. I say in theory because while it's bandwidth overhead is significantly larger than USB 2.0's, it typically does not go much faster than USB 2.0 (occasionaly is goes slower).
EDIT: I forgot why exactly that is, but if you really look, you'll find it's true.
USB depends on the processing speed and shit, whereas FireWire just communicates directly with the HD, so it's always the same speed. USB in theory might go as fast if the PC was kickass and had 4gigs of ram or something, but not really.
I'll break it down. There are 2 types of USB and 2 types of FireWire. The 2 USB types are 12MBPS and 480MBPS (max). The 2 types of FireWire are 400MBPS and 800MBPS. (USB 1.1 and USB 2.0, as compared with FireWire 400 and FireWire 800). So FireWire is a lot faster, and since it stays at a constant 800MBPS or 400MBPS as opposed to the USB which changes speed based on your processor, it's much better.

Ahh... You're right. There is one (1) innovation, and one (1) innovation only that the geniuses at Microsoft created, probably after getting drunk at a bar and muttering stuff to their tech manager, who thought they had invented something important, and that's right clicking. Mac didn't copy it because unlike Microsoft it doesn't copy every single fucking innovation that its competitor creates. Apple is an honest company, whereas Microsoft just steals everyfuckingthing from Apple.
Compared to Apple's list of innovations, Microsoft's is rather short, don't you think?

PC is more user friendly. Why? Becuase it is what most everyone owns. So when you have to bring files to a friends house you dont have to worry about "oh shit i did this on a mac and he owns a pc dammit".
Also Macs may have more speed but who is going to need it? Nobody needs that except businesses that use video editing and shit. PC's work for everyone that needs a home computer. They get the job done for whatever your doing. Oh and you say macs run all games? Ever heard of doom3 its not available for mac. Oh well thats just one game right? What about half life 2, yeah thats pc only. But remember on mac you can always play breakout and super breakout!
You said that your pc sucked at running call of duty. Your video card probably sucks. My video card is 64mb but its a crappy one thats on the mother board. It doenst support T&L or shading or anything. Just becuase its 64mb doesnt mean its good. If you had an ATI 9800 pro it would run smoother then silk, i believe thats a 256mb card too. You cant compare how a game runs on a crappy computer and on a new mac. That is the same as comparing the performance of a 30 yr old car with 400,000 miles on it to a brand new car. You just can't do it.

Uhh... No. Mac is more user-friendly by about 5 miles. Why? Because it never crashes and everything makes sense. You plug in a camera, it works. You plug in a mouse, it works. You connect to a network, it works. You do just about anything and it just works. Everything is PC compatible on a Mac. Almost everything. Word, excel, powerpoint are all PC compatible if they're made on a Mac. Even AppleWorks is Word-compatible because Apple is in a PC world and they know it. Any file works on both Mac and PC. Try to name a file that's Mac-only or PC-only.

Everybody needs speed, goddammit. What if you're using iMovie to edit a photo of your kid riding a bike for the first time? On a Mac you don't have to sit around loading the video or loading the effects for 10 minutes. It's instant. Oh, but I forgot. PCs don't even have a site like iLife. Because they are fucking lame. Face it, PC's suck. Oh no, 2 games don't work on Mac! Who gives a fuck! They'll be out on Mac in a few months, I bet. And they'll run at 60fps on my bitchin PowerBook. There are thousands of games for Mac, trust me. UT2003? UT2004? CoD? All for Mac. As well as a few thousand others. It's better to wait and have all the graphics levels at the highest than get it first on PC and have all the graphics levels to the lowest, and still chugging along at 20FPS.

My video card is an ATI Radeon 7200 with 64MB VRAM. It was topoftheline a year or two ago. My PC was topoftheline a year or two ago. It isn't some ancient 30-year-old PC. It's pretty goddamn smooth with the graphics levels set at the lowest. But my PB is pretty goddamn smooth with all the graphics levels at the highest. A top-of-the-line PC a year old should not be pwned by a 1 1/2 inch-thick PowerBook. And yet it just has been.
Face it, PC's suck. Macs are faster, easier to use and are just plain beautiful. I notice you didn't even bother responding to half my points on my huge post at the top of this page. Because I'm right on all of them.

And just because most of the world uses PCs, doesn't make them better. Example: Bentlys are nice cars, but just because more people drive Hondas doesnt make a Honda better, now does it?

I'd also like to know how a 1.8GHz Mac processor is equivalent to a 4.4GHz Intel. Last time I checked, 1.8 does not equal 4.4, unless Mac measures GHz differently.

I think its funny he said "wow the mac doesnt support 2 games, wow big deal". The games are the two biggest games to come out on computer in years. Doom 3 and Half life 2, but if i want to play them i can wait a few years for it to come on mac right? If it ever does.
I really like how you pull arguments out of nowhere.
Oh no, F4 doesnt have a q in it, how will i remember the shortcut! hmm maybe the fact that its on top of the damn keyboard.
Face it, your Radeon 7200 is on the same level of a Geforce MX, Don't act like games are supposed to have the priviledge of running on it, just like your P4, get an AMD64 and then tell us how games should run.
and most of our PCs dont crash and burn like yours, youre probably the one idiot whos running without a firewall so hackers can send you trojans and and porn dialers free of charge. Never was a valid point in your agument.
Hmm, like I said last time, there are 3! ways to get to my graphics options, right click menu, the appearance menu and through a little icon on the control.
Im pretty sure MP3 players were a big thing even before the Ipod came out.
it was these little p2p programs that caused companies like Apple, Roxio and others to see dollar signs in digital music.
I must admit though, Even after Bill Gates kidnapped your child, I see no bias in any of your arguments.

*sigh*
Just because someone creates something new and usefull doesn't mean that nobody should use it also (or as you so put it, "steal".)
If that were the case, then there would be one brand of car, TV, video game, tupperware container, etc.
If someone uses an idea and pretends that they came up with it, then that is stealing.
But if someone uses something, doesn't do the above, and improves on it, then the consumer wins. (The 'improves' point is debateable. So lets not.)
The Wright Brothers invented the first airplane, and if no one improved on it, air travel would suck (by today's standards.)
Neil Cicieraga invented 'Animutation' (http://albinoblacksheep.com/flash/pika.php), but if it ended at him then we wouldn't have 'Irrational Exuberance (Yatta!)' (http://albinoblacksheep.com/flash/yatta.php) or 'Arfenhouse' (http://www.disasterlabs.com/index.php?sec=arfen&mov=1519) or 'Arfenhouse 2' (http://albinoblacksheep.com/flash/arfenhouse2.php) or 'The Demented Cartoon Movie' (http://albinoblacksheep.com/flash/demented.php) or 'French Erotic Film' (http://albinoblacksheep.com/flash/french.php).
We aknowledge that Mac came out with loads of stuff first.
But I, for one, prefer the way that Microsoft has improved (in my eyes, as an individual) on what Mac had created.
We (me) as (a) Microsoft users (user) doesn't care that Mac may or may not be supposedly "better" than Microsoft.
I prefer their operating system, and so do many many other people.
It's like arguing over which band is better, when clearly they can be both as good in their own different ways.

High end computer? 2 Ghz pentium 4 with a radeon 7200? The radeon 7200 was never top of the line, and competed and lostto the Nvidia Geforce 2 about 4-5 years ago. Are you using the PCI version of it to compare as well? I am going to assume you are using an Intel 845 Chipset with 256 MB of RAM as your comparison for this high-end machine ...
You said you have been gaming on PCs and Macs and macs are always faster? The root of your problem in that comparaision is the PC you use is not qualified for the title of "High End", nor was it 3 years ago.
Laptops are easy to upgrade RAM. You just need to unscrew the RAM pannel to access the So-Dimm slots, just like the apple. Do you really need 8 GB of RAM as a home user? No. That is why Dual Opteron system, which happen to be faster in many tests, support 4+ Giogabytes of RAM depending on the motherboard. That is right...We as PC users have many choices on what goes in our system. This could be a good thing, or bad thing depending on how you wish to look at it.
Stick to your knowlege of macs, but before you do let us change a few things around before it goes back into storage.
Stablity. Why are Macs a more stable machine? I believe I already answered this and this is a confirmation of it again. Macs make the software, make the hardware, put it in a shiney blue package and sell it as they please. Everything from hardware to software conforms to thier own guidelines and 3rd party soiftware to them. On a PC system, Microsoft technologies with imput from other technologies. PC companies get together and form standards to which almost all of them abide to as close as posibble. Control of the hardware is by the technology companies, not one company. This can lead to compatablity issues. This also leads to M$ Operating system to support almost every technology it can possible to offer to the user the best experiance it can with the best ease of use. I said attempts. For apple to tout its "ease of use" it only has to deal with itself. Microsoft has to deal with everyone, and I believe they good a good job in face of what they have to deal with.
Securtity. Windows Machine sare much more secure....But before you laugh..I will tell you why. Take a Mac machine, convert the world to 90 % mac users and watch the myth of stablity, virus protection, and ease of use come cumbling down as the attention of virus writers, hackers, and other of those who write malicious code all lock on the blue apple. Just like windows loop hole are found by the shear number of people using every possible combination of features, services, and programs, numbers of security breaches will be found with the Mac OS. There is no reason for a virus writter to hit a mac in the hopes that world chaos will ensue after 5% of the whole computer population loses render times in the heavly optimized Photoshop for Mac. Windows PCs have more holes fixed and give alarm to possible secutiry flaws in not just thier OS, but the same types of attacks - hardware or software based- to all technologies. Moving back to the real world, many possible exploits and flaws of the OSX systems will never be found for there are enough people or interest in finding them. As long as the main guns are aimed at the Quad-colored window instead of the Pengiun or Apple, Linux and Apple are safe under the M$ umbrella. I believe a comparision would be between Jupiter shielding the earth from space rocks by pulling them in before they ever reach us.
Macs adapter better to technology! Sure they do, they only have a small number of die-hard-fans, as you call them. I use the term "Fanatics" to people who pay $100 for version 10.xx of the new update to the same OS 10 . Microsoft has to offer compatablity with older versions of its OSes and usually does not have the liberty to crap on 90% of computer users in favor a a new technology that will boost performance at the sacrifice of software compatablity. Sure, cite the Itantium, but that is not for this conversation on desktop machines. I would actually like to see the new Itantium versus the G5. Currently the Athlon 64 sends the G5 down river (Except in Photoshop) even considxering it is still running 32 bit code on its 32 bit windows. We will see when the ground is evened with a fully compatable windows 64-bit system. We will also see how Apple fares against the dual cored Pentium 4, pentium M, Itantium2, Athlon 64 and Opteron. I would like note that the Pentium 4 eats any low Mhz processor alive in many audio/video encoding programs. God bless SSE/2/3.
Easier to display system info? You type "MSinfo32" in run and you have all aspects of your computer at your finger tips. You can access this through hardware manger as well. Hell, there are thouasands of utilities that are x86 only that can do anything and display anything about you system. I hardly find it difficult to not know that alt-f4 closes program, or control-alt-delete gives you the ability to run system manger to close programs or monitor performance.
To batman. Processors speed it not based on Ghz alone. IT depends onf software support, technologies in the chip taken advatange, memory bandwith, instuctions per clock cycle...Many things. Considering The G5s are mainly dual systems used for comparairion on a 64-bit platform with 64bit software...it is not a fiar comparision. Although it is sill funny how the 32 bit conterparts still beat the pure 64 bit Apple chips.

I think that it's really nerdy to post your negative opinion in threads that aren't for you, on an internet forum.
I don't actually think that it's nerdy.
I think it's something else entirely.

Shucks... Asarien truly believes that most of you just copy all the speculations and paste it as though you understand what all the numbers and acronyms stand for.
Be honest with yourselves. Most of those terminologies were created by computer engineers for computer engineers. It's just that now-a-days, people think that throwing numbers and words that no one can understand automatically makes a computer better.
