Anyone heard/got this john petruci instrumental album yet? I downloaded it a few days ago and it is amazing. Some really great stuff.
If you haven't heard it, its like liquid tension experiment but maybe better. Download it or buy it now.

John Petruci?
If oyu mean the Fantômas one, I got it few weeks ago and it's pure art. Better than the last two albums.

I don't know. Here in the US the new album is called Suspended Animation.
Suspended Animation by Fantomas, I'm sure he means.
Which is an album I've been waiting for and will order very soon.
Or later than I would like.
But if it's better than Delirium Cordia, I think it will be hugely better than anything I might have been expecting.

I've heard a few tracks from Fantomas's Suspended Animation, and didn't really like one bit of it. It's a lot like their first album, Amenaza al Mundo, except it's just... noise. I liked Amenaza because, while it was rather crazy (half "music," half "noise") as they say, parts still held on to beat, rhythm, and other properties of "normal" music. Suspended Animation, in my experience with it, threw all these things out the window. For this reason, I cannot stand it.
In short, I was hoping for something more "musical."
In the bottom of my heart, I wish for another Mr. Bungle album. California is still my favorite album of all time.

I muchly like Suspended Animation . . it sounds like a caricature of Fantômas.
Better than Delirium Cordia, at any rate.

It's such a hard album to REALLY like, for most people. I'm really surprised my CD store actually had it. Bought it as soon as I noticed it. The artwork is amazing. Patton's just amazing, anyways. He's great cuz he's always doin' somethin' different. If you like him, John Zorn is also good.
And it's a look into his mind, considering he wrote the music. It's a super group but never gets caught up in being... a super group.
It's nice how he uses his vocals as noises, to add to it, instead of singing all the time.
But if you want noise, you haven't heard anything til you've heard a band like Wolf Eyes. THAT'S noise, and it puts anything Patton does to shame in that department. But Patton still makes more entertaining music.
"It is said that even Wolf Eye fans dont' listen to Wolf Eyes albums." haha.

I love how my topic about John Petrucci's new solo album changes into a topic about a completely different band that I have never even heard of.

Well John Petrucci's guitar work in Dream Theater is uninspired, technical for the sake of being technical, unemotional bullshit. I hate Dream Theater. Or is it Theatre? Eh, oh well, whatever. I'm just tired of Petrucci, lol.
I didn't even know about the solo album though, I'll give it a shot once I switch computers and am able to download stuff.
