View Full Version : New Gorillaz Album
I heard about it last week and was thinking "Bout damned time."
I saw the Feelgood, Inc video and I really like it, and those who have already 'aquired' the album say it's good.
Anybody else looking forward to this?

dunno man. the first album was kindof boring IMO. this time it's dangermouse on the production, right ? and you get featurings by de la soul and mf doom, eh ??
no, I'm not really looking forward this. looks boring, just my opniion though..
I dind't know Doom was gonna be on it, that's some cool shit. And did they ever do that remake of Burnt? I heard they were gonna way back when but I never ended up actually hearing it.
And as for it being boring, I guess that's just your taste.

their first album got old so damn quickly, it's almost impossible.
well I dunno, yo, I'm kinof biased with all of this. when I bought this record, it was mostly for del's featurings and shit, I didn't really gave a shit about the actual gorillaz band, I was just an hieroglyphics junkie. I didn't even like those del/gorillaz songs that much so the whole album got boring really quickly. but that's just me, I don't really like the voice of that singer (I think it's damon albarn(sp?) from blur ??)... but the music is most of the time catchy and cute. no big deal though, dan the automator is gone and dangermouse iisn't really amazing so I guess this time the production could be even worst than on the first album.
but like you said, it's all about taste in music. but my taste is obviously better than yours.

haha, btw, I just gave you like 1,000 credits (points). no big deal I don't even know what you can do with those. enjoy !
Well, I like trip-hop type stuff, so I like the Gorillaz. They're not my favorite, I just think it's cool that they're finally putting out something new. Kind of like Beck, it's just been a while..

Their new single is pretty good, but 19-2000 is also pretty good.
I liked some songs off of the first one but I never bought that album.
I was always put off by the fact that almost everyone loved their song 'Clint Eastwood'.
I'm probably the only person in my area who knew that it was Del The Funky Homosapien rapping.
(And also in descending order of personal importance)
And that Kid Koala was on drums (in his own way.)
And that Dan The Automator was producing.
And that Miho Hatori was on guitar.
And that Jamie Hewlett was on bass.
But did anyone else care about anything other than, "NYUUU!!! DAMON ALBARN!!!"?
The answer is possibly 'no' in some cases.
I don't know, at the time I was really into the idea of being "underground", and it just felt like I was selling my principles out, or something stupid like that.
Now that the underground seems to be gaining in prominence, none of that really matters anymore.
My petty emotional differences will soon die down.
So I might buy the first album for cheap sometime if I see it.
And I will check out some songs from this new album as I quite like 'Feelgood, Inc.' from the radio.
But I guess I need some time to leave those memories behind.
Just to rewind my mind, or kinda leave a strikethrough line.
(Hahahaha!!!)I've also got such fine rhymes that get me paid in dimes, which I use to buy nine windchimes that play 'Sign O' The Times' to hang upon my grapevine-washingline.
Word up to fresh laundry!
For me, I bought the first album before I was into "underground" stuff. I was sort of young then, so my taste in music still sucked. I never listened to the whole album then, just the songs I heard on the radio or that had cool names. Then years later I noticed the CD, gave it a listen, and really liked it. It's been in semi-regular play ever since.

Liking a band just cuz their underground is the worst thing ever. Wait no, the 30 year old Goths are who prefer the old school music and shun anything else are just as bad.
But anyways, I like Feelgood Inc a lot. I overplayed it once I downloaded it, but I don't like any other Gorillaz songs.
Damon's a shithead, from what I'm told. I'm not over in Europe, but someone over there told me that all he did was fake an accent to get famous. I lost all respect.
I do enjoy his voice on Feelgood Inc cuz it fits in that song cuz it just... feels so plain. I think that was the intent, but it fails on every other song.
It's like 50 Cent, he's complete and utter bullshit, but on Hate it or Love It, his voice fits.
He was actually talking about disliking something because it wasn't underground.

Yeah, and I said... liking something just cuz it is underground. It's the flip side on what that guy said. lol
Well he wasn't so much saying he liked something that sucked just because it was underground, like you were saying, he said he had a hard time admitting he liked something mainstream.

And that's such shit.
But really, I wasn't referring to what he said. Usually, and you'll all understand this after a while, I just read what someone types and then it reminds me of something off and I go off on a tangent. So a lot of time people think I'm talking to them but I'm just talking to myself, and whoever wants to pay attention, good for them.
I listen to mainstream bands, I listen to underground bands. Music's music, that's all I want people to know.
