I wanted to cancel my free trial membership and they wouldn't let me! It was funny, they kept on giving me all these options and telling me they're so much safer and shit. I seriously, had to tell him to shut the hell up and just cancel the damned thing...

Finally though, they did :groovy:

They must be desperate. Now they have all these commercials and started to send out thousands of free trial cd's to the same houses. They need to just let their company die out. I think the only way they are surviving is becuase of Time Warner.

Oh and you should always just tell them the shut the hell up and cancel it. No matter what it is for. People are always going to try and get you to keep using their service. Except microsoft has never giving me anything, they always cut the bullshit and cancel. Like when I canceled my PSO subscription they just canceled it, no bullshit.

Yeah that was how it was for me when I had to cancel.

It was a bitch.

I was like I have to go to class, please cancel me and then he was like oh class well AOL can help a lot with class work, how is school going for you anyway?

Then I face plained him and yelled.

heh here's what I Would do.

I would tell them
1) I am taping this conversation
2) Cancel my membership
3) I am not responsible for any financial obligation as of this minute
4) Cancel me now, or talk to my lawyer.

And make sure you e-mail it to them as soon as you cancel to, find fax numbers, and write up your the 4 things I just listed, and send them in.

Works everytime.

True story: I had AOL. Tried to cancel it. Ended up getting hit on by this college chick who nearly smooth-talked me out of cancelling. Shoulda got HER number just for kicks. Called back, got another rep on the phone managed to deep-six the service. End of story.

What do they ask when you first call and say you wish to cancel? Becuase even though I do not have AOL maybe I can call to cancel and see what they say.

"Or don't use AOL in the first place. "

Well if you know about freevideogames.com / freecondoms.com / freedvds.com you get "points" for signing up for offers (this one was worth 700 points) Going to get my Halo Xbox game when I get 1450 points =o Yeah, I pay 50$ a month for a t2 connection.

You guys should really check it out -- you need a credit card, but alot you just cancel before the free trial is up.
If you're going to flame saying it's a scam, look on Google for proof...

don't fuck w/ aol. it's like sticking your head beside an octopus.

WTF

I thought it was like shoving an octopus up your ass. But maybe I'm wrong....

Cocoa Christ

well if you put your head beside it (and this is just from memory) the Octopus usually shoves itself up there.

That seems like total bullshit. Put your head up the octopus' mouth hole.

I love that commercial where the lady gets her mail and is all excited about the new AOL disc, but it turns out it's just because her and her husband are making a fish out of all of them.
