How do you really make a proper title name for a thread?

If a thread title has no relation to the thread itself, then what good does it do? A simple , . ' would work instead.

When I read the forums, if I see something that resembles a quote from a song or movie, generally I associate it with a intouch :: blog-esque type post.

The "What size are your feet" threads are always comedy, because we've all done them at one point. That is so nublar. But hey, its about having fun right? I don't like the vet-noob gap, its too harsh.

I love the "I am leaving" ones too, because many of us have done them, I've probably done my fair share as well. Atleast the breaks the people take allow them to open up a bit and evolve on the forumage.

I don't know about you, but I think titles are silly. More or less a waste of time, because usually I think about the title more than I do about th thread. Except for this one, because I just don't know.

So, do most people establish a relation between the title and context of the thread? I'd have to say yes. And it is good, but suprises are always fun.

One of my favorite VB Features is being able to hover over a thread and seeing what waits inside. Alot of thread titles are there to trick you.

On Invision boards, you can have two titles. A subject, and then a description, though the description normally goes to waste like "Come in to see" or something.
