Can't wait. I need another platformer in my hands, Up Your Arsenal was great and I can't imagine this one. It looks way more slick and I hear the story is going to be 10x funnier. And I don't know what to do about Sly 3, i'll probably have to rent that one. I'm just glad that Ps2 did best in platformers this gen. Ok that was a rant.

Anyway anyone else looking forward to this?

This one isn't a platformer. It's a straight up shooter.

Actually all the previous releases of this series involve lots of shooting. So how do you define a platformer then?

Truthfully, the Ratchet and Clank series has some serious flaws, and it's majorly OVER hyped. I got Up your Arsenal due to the great reviews and hype, but it was an MAJOR disappointment. Of course, that's just me...

Well, Up Your Arsenal was fun, and these guys have the best TV spots ever.

Rachet and Clank series is quiet funny, has wonderful physics, and was so easy to play. On the other foot, you have Jak and Daxter, which was super hard. e.g. my brother throwing the controller across the room after repeating the same level on and on for hours, and my two younger sisters going with Rachet and Clank and leaving J & D after a few hours of gameplay, never to touch it back again. You've got the picture now, haven't you, wasn't it photorealistic? lol

Same for me, I don't really care much for the game for some reason. I don't really like platformers though either unless its mario.

A platformer is defined by your level designs and obviously the overabundance of well...excessive jumping involved within the level designs. Of course it is up to the designer to create more objectives and scenarios around this base concept. Essentially, it's another type of adventure game, but in some ways, more physically active.
R&C has always been a platformer with shooter elements and Up Your Arsenal was more 70% shooter in that category.

Deadlocked (especially after the recent demo tryout) is most definitely a shooter 100%. There aren't any platformer style level designs, hell you can't even grab onto ledges. The levels are very expansive arenas w/ checkpoint nodes, constant respawning enemies and wingmen squadmates.

This is a complete (and really great) multiplayer shooter. I've had more fun with this demo than I did with most PC multiplayer shooters.
