That had to be the best show I have seen for a long time.
What were some of your thoughts of the show?
Carlos
10-04-2005, 05:54 AM
Currently watching it, so far I'm disappointed, especially with the Iron Man match. I was expecting Angle to do better than the "aftermath" of the match. I won't spoil it for others, but that was a every bit disappointing than watching Orton crashing the party.
The Austin/McMahon thing was a bit funny but dragged on too long.

It gets a hell of a lot better. Trust me.

And, I donno about the Austin Vs Hogan match. I have a bad feeling about it.

Austin vs. Hogan = Ratings and Vince knows it. It will probably be the main event at WrestleMania 22. It also looks like WWE are going towards a RAW vs. SmackDown! Survivor Series. I bet the main event will be a JBL led SmackDown Team vs. a HBK led RAW team.
Dwhitten
10-05-2005, 12:12 AM
Yeah that part with Smackdown and Raw fighting each other was exciting.
See I always loved Eric Bishoff. Everyone hates him but he's good at what he does. Pissing people off. He's an awesome actor and I hope the WWE doesn't let go of him.

Its not that I don't think its going to drive up ratings, but what I think is going to happen, the whole thing will not be a "full blown" confrontation like Austin is used to over the years. I think this is going to be a remiscent of Austin vs 'Taker (that is labeled as "underrated" for most people, if you ask me) - not only was it underhyped, it was also a short storyline.
I mean, Austin is in the movie industry, and his last match was years ago. What makes everyone think its actually going to happen?
And last time I checked, Austin implied he won't be wrestling much, after his final wrestlemania. Its in his "stone cold truth" book.

I knew it was gonna be HHH vs Flair. Alittle bit to predictable. Well not really, but anyways, HHH is the man

I knew Hardy would be sent to Suckdown. Great match there by the way.
What they didn't use the talents of Mrrrrr. Kennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnedyyyyy!
The Austin thing was funny for the first 2 mins but more of the ancient crap and for God sake quite playing with the crowd providing the What chants to come back. Let it end cause some stupid ass in the crowd will start what chants in important interviews etc. He didn't have to ALMOST stunn Linda Mcmahon. Linda turned away from the stunner but fell to the ground all like she was knocked out. And the camera caught it! LOL
Angle vs HBK was a let down. The match was slow they didn't do much though that moonsault into the angle ankle lock was the shit.
They didn't do much with the legends. WWE was like "ah, here are the legends Clap, clap." Rob "I don't have a gimmick" Conway gets the beat down by Dusty Rhodes, if you wills, and others. Now on to the rest of the show.
HHH nailing Flair who didn't smell that coming. HHH is pissed that Flair is a man now with a belt not a side kick puppy dog saying "hey, hey, hey, what are we going to do now duke huh huh huh". HHH vs Flair IC title match. HHH wins trashes the title like he did with the Championship belt.
They really really needed the Rock there last night.
They threw out the Smackdown match? What the hell was the point in the first place? Was it to start for the 20th time a Show vs show story. It never works. NEVER!
A lesbian story line developing between Trish and Ashley. Oh boy here we go again.
Glad to see them back on USA it is home and it fits WWE.

I just would love them getting rid of the roster splits, because it's killing their resources. RAW will never get those great rating as it once did when people keep seeing the same damn guys on the tv night after night.
It's a joke to let great talent rot in a sub par rating show. I mean does the WWE think it's even with SmackDown and Raw? It's bullshit to make the viewers being excited for a lousy "trade" every now and than. Both rosters have great talent...no doubt but look at the GM's. Here we have a loser named Theordore Lang who's nothing but a thug talking supposedly "leader" and we have Eric Bishoff representing Raw. There's no comparason between Bishoff and Lang. Bishoff is at the ranks of a Vince when it comes to pissing off people and making people believe he's in charge.
That's just my rant...
the new draft lottery sucked too, i mean sure big names where traded but you could see them all coming, the first one was much better...they could have gone back to having a much better tag team line up, however i suppose there would be too many names going for one Heavyweight title...HHH, Batista, Cena, Angle, Kane, Big Show, JBL, Undertaker....too many big names on one show
also have you noticed the shit they've been giving Simon Dean? he's turninginto the new Scotty 2 Hotty and getting his ass beat down by all the new guys...he's one of the most talented in the place

I was excited about TNA coming back, because pretty much the entire nWo is over there now, with the exception of Hogan. I guess I will keep an eye open to the WWE now and see what happens. They have been know to have great stories and just stop them (rebirth of the nWo - had so much potential).

Anyway, I hate both GM's. However, I can tolerate Eric Bischoff but Theodore 'Playa' Long - I can't stand him. I say get rid of him and put Paul Heyman as the GM at SmackDown! Well at least we can agree on Long. Bishoff was brought in to be a Vince which I think he does it better than anyone else. The reason I say this is simply because Eric actually beat Vince at his own game for 82 weeks and was seen as a dominate figure at one time and still is in my opinion. God I worship Bishoff.
Paul Heyman would be a good choice for GM, but he's not on the same level as Bishoff. Sure the ECW was popular thing but not as many people knew about the organization until the WWE bought it out. Paul Heyman never "stuck it to Vince". Granted you can say Bishoff had more money to work with but the key note to success was not the money but creative mind.

That NWO thing in WWE started good but was killed off.
Raw needs a dominant faction in it - like a Corporation or DX type group.
They had Evolution there for a while.

Yea, I got to do a sit down interview with Edge, John Cena, and Stacy Keibler (hawtness). I got pics of the others as well.
Edge does make me look small, hes 6'5 and 250lbs. Cenas even bigger.
They were really cool, really down to earth, they did a little bit of acting between cena and edge (I'll be the champ type stuff) but other than that it was more along the lines of how it is to be in the business and whatnot.
My wife didn't make the E3 trip, she doesn't go for the big huge guys anyways, but being that I was going to be meeting with a group of playboy bunnies, I had to let her know that If I got the chance to er...."get to know one of them a little better".... I was taking it, she said she would expect me to, and if she ever got the chance to "get to know" tim mcgraw a little better, she wouldnt be passing that up either, so we had a mutual agreeance and left it at that.

WWE No Mercy 2005 Card for tonight.
World Heavyweight Title Match
Batista vs. Eddie Guerrero
2 On 1 Handicap Match
The Undertaker vs. Bob and Randy Orton
United States Championship Match
Chris Benoit vs. Orlando Jordan vs. Booker T vs. Christian
JBL vs. Rey Mysterio
L.O.D & Christy Hemme vs. MMM
Simon Dean vs. Bobby Lashley
Hardcore Holly vs. Ken Kennedy
Cruiserweight Championship Match
Nunzio vs. Juventud
Anybody ordering?
not ordering but here my predictions (Likely to be wrong)
World Heavyweight Title Match
Batista (i can see him having it alot longer, maybe a DQ...either way Eddie hasn't been impressive at all)
2 On 1 Handicap Match
Ortons (Could be wrong here, just off the Undertaker seeming to have the advanage going into No Mercy makes me doubt him)
United States Championship Match
Benoit Retaining (he kinda has more experience in matches like this, Booker may snatch it though)
Rey Mysterio (JBL sucks, not championship materiel....give Rey a title shot i say)
MMM (a better "team" IMO, individually they are worse but together they're pretty good, remind me of Edge and Christian in some ways)
Bobby Lashley (even though i want Simon Dean to win since he's like one of my Fav's since he was Nova, Bobby Lashey is on his beginners "streak of wins")
Ken Kennedy (they're giving Kennedy a push, and Hardcore is just another stepping stone for him really)
Cruiserweight Championship Match
Juventud (a good athlete when he isn't screwing moves up, kinda sloppy but he'll win)
i never usually buy events because i am hardly impressed with them, i watched ECW's One Night Stand and that was awesome but everything since hasn't been good at all

World Heavyweight Title Match
Batista vs. Eddie Guerrero - Batista
2 On 1 Handicap Match
The Undertaker vs. Bob and Randy Orton - Bob and Randy Orton (how fucking gay is that?)
United States Championship Match
Chris Benoit vs. Orlando Jordan vs. Booker T vs. Christian - Chris Benoit
JBL vs. Rey Mysterio - JBL
L.O.D & Christy Hemme vs. MMM - Legion of Doom
Simon Dean vs. Bobby Lashley - Bobby Lashley
Hardcore Holly vs. Ken Kennedy - Ken Kennedy
Cruiserweight Championship Match
Nunzio vs. Juventud - Juventud (new champ)
I would talk about the best parts of the show, but there was nothing good about it. It all sucked.

About what I expected. Thats M-N-M.
Bobby Lashley needs a better name and more moves. Clothesline, Clothesline, slam, finisher, 1.2.3
So is Taker retiring or is WWE going to repackage him for the 400th time?
Yea, Jobber Holy was defeated by Mrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Kennedy!
Finally a deserving Cruiserweight Champ in Juvi.
What RAW didn't interfere???
Kennedy!
Tommy
10-10-2005, 10:58 AM
That was the only thing I was a bit worried I was missing - RAW invading. Glad I didn't pay.
The Undertaker is probably taking time off until Survivor Series. Orton probably won because he will be facing Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship soon - he now has legitimate grounds. (Storyline-wise. "I DEFEETED TEH UNDERTAKR!!1")
i love the fact that they do stuff like "setting the casket on fire and destroying it" and try to pass it off as something that hasn't been done before, Triple H destroyed a casket with the Rock in it and they've been set on fire just about everytime they bring the match up....yawn
nWo4life1949
10-11-2005, 05:51 AM
the raw invasions gonna take effect at survivor series, for one of the 8 man elimination tag matches
as far as no mercy goes, it wasnt anything good, sad that wwe is re-doing the "burning casket" from the rumble 98 match when taker fought kane. but yeah, orton and taker arent gonna be done for a while, doubt it's a repackage, but for taker to fight both orton's, he's probably gona be teamed up with someone, maybe kane will go to sd.

Kane comes back next week on RAW, they shown a promo for it last night. RAW totally sucked last night. You know it sucks when the best quality match on it is the Women's Championship match. JR was fired, but I knew that was going to happen - he's going to commentate for the WWE.com shows.
nWo4life1949
10-11-2005, 06:35 PM
yea, kane had knee surgery and is due back next week, but as far as a mask, rumor is it might be like a phantom of the opera style (red n black of course) since we already know what his face looks like, so itll be like a half n half deal
Putting a mask back on Kane would be horrifically stupid.
i preferred him with the mask, however its pointless putting one back on, they took it off because he said it restricted his ability

There has been rumors that Bishoff will be fired and replaced by a legend, but that would piss me off so much. Why would they fire a person like Bishoff who is an awesome actor and keep a thug GM like Theodore Lang(This guy sucks "playa")? WWE is making some horrible choices

WWE is playing up the JR firing thing on their website. I think they are trying to get more interactive with the fans and having the story portrayed more on the site making it an equal balance to the tv shows. JR leaving TV will free him up to do more behind the scenes work and work with the talent more as well as WWE.com Unlimited.
By how WWE.com is playing it up it seems JR was really fired. But if he was really fired why have Linda McMahon kick him in the balls. That seems more of a story and we will be seeing more of Linda on TV. Also there are articles by Dubie Lee or something like that. I think that is JR.

I want Shane to be in a No Holds Barred fight with his Daddy. The WrestleMania 17 fight they had was unbelievable. Shane and Vince McMahon, whenever they are in matches, make them interesting to watch. I didn't expect anything from Zach Gowan/Vince and Hogan/Vince but both were very entertaining matches.

well the new tagline is that the mcmahon's are united for the first time in history, more than likely, shane will break away like he has in the past. when vince and shane are aligned, the matches suck, one has to opose the other for any storyline to work. hell, watch jr vs vince or austin n jr vs vince n shane, if jr n austin win, jr runs wwe, if they lose, austins fired...doubt it though
pointless re-doing storylines like Austin getting fired which has happened several times, i cant really see the McMahon family storyline going too deep again, its just all happened before

It seems JR has health problems and this "firing" is worked out so he can get himself in better shape. His doctors found some weird shit in his colon so they are gonna cut it out.
theres just some shit ya dont need to hear man....

Linda turning heel is the worst WWE angle ever. Hmm, well, Mae Young did give birth to a hand.

RAW was interesting last night, to say the least.
I knew that something was going to happen following Austin's Stunners 2 weeks ago. I know for a fact he wouldn't have just come back for that one show to boost ratings, he would have only come back for an angle - and that's what we're getting.
Here's what I think -
Scenario A) Mike Goldberg rejected WWE after Vince McMahon said somebody was going to get fired. The plan was to "fire" J.R. and to put Mike Goldberg in his position. As Mike Goldberg rejected WWE - Vince still had to go through with the J.R. getting fired angle. I think perhaps Vince knows he has screwed up, as he doesn't have a real lead announcer on RAW, as the plan has came back and bit him in the ass, so the obvious thing at Taboo Tuesday would be for Austin to beat Coach and have J.R. come back.
or
Scenerio B) We're going to see a screw job at Taboo Tuesday, Coach will beat Austin and Austin will be fired (for the 209345124th time). Thus meaning no Hogan vs. Austin. at WrestleMania 22. The general feeling was that Austin never was interested in doing this anyway.
or
Scenario C) I'm talking total bullshit and none of the above will happen.
I was surprised that 3 Faces won the opportunity to be in the Taboo Tuesday triple threat match. I don't believe that the fans really choose who is going to face Cena and Angle, so I think HBK will be in the triple threat match with Kane and Big Show joining Edge to start a war against JBL and SmackDown! and lead to a match at Survivor Series - elimination rules of course.
the story behind it is JR is having surgery hence why he is away (fired), Vince wouldn't fire someone if he didn't have a replacement already...the Mike Goldberg thing would have probabily put him on Smackdown giving them 3 announcers too
JR will be back
Vince did intend to put Mike in JR's spot. He offered Mike 300,000 dollars to no-show the UFC event on top of the signing bonus and contract he was offered.

It Doesnt Matter Who's picked for the main event at taboo tuesday, either cena or angle are gonna win due to the main event at survivior series, though i have heard rumors that if kane is picked, he'll win, but like all rumors in the 'rasslin world, it might not be true
they said they where giving Kane a push, he deserves one

Mickie James.
And so, we get Raw tonight.
Main Event, you ask? John Cena V. Kurt Angle, with special ref Mick Foley.
everyone voted on Taboo Tuesday?
i have but it aint like there's much to vote for really anyway, i had Kane in the triple threat match thus putting HBK and Show in the tag match, Flair and Trips in a submission match simply because WWE tried to sway the votes towards a steel cage match, fuck them, i had Foley as Cactus Jack, divas in Lingerie (clear winner)...i voted Rey in the Smackdown match, Stone Cold obviously in a Street Fight although he'll probabily get screwed...end of sucky PPV
