Well I was looking for a thread discussing video games developers and publishers; their status, their popularity, etc. I didn't find one so I am starting one my self. Anyway for a start my favorite developer of all times was and still Squarenix then comes EA, Capcom, Namco, and Tecmo.
Here are something I found about EA status in the gaming industry:

Electronic Arts excels in gaming industry
Computer game developer and publisher Electronic Arts are the dominating market leaders and have excelled when it comes to revenues, popular titles, and happy workers. This fact has been said in a report released by the trade magazine Game Developer. The company headed the list of “Top 20″ list of entertainment software publishers.

The magazine took into consideration facts like revenues, numbers of new releases, quality of games, and staff pay and perks while generating the ratings for these gaming companies. In fact, this is the third straight year that Electronic Arts has headed this ranking. The company dominates the market and has revenues close to 3.1 billion dollars.

Magazine editor Simon Carless said in a written release: “Game Developer magazine’s survey compiles the essential ranking for each publisher, not just simply using raw revenue values.” Some of the main competitors for Electronic Arts are Activision, Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony, which completed the top five in the list released by the magazine.

Some of the popular gaming titles/series out by EA are Sims2, From Russian With Love, Harry Potter, and an array of professional sports games like Need for Speed, Fifa, and NBA.

I think that this company deserve admiration. Don't you agree?

From Russia With Love is out and popular? Since when has EA developed a good bond game? Harry Potter? No thanks. As for their sports titles they are outshined by other developers. NBA Live < NBA 2k series, FIFA < PES/WE, etc. EA is not really a QUALITY publisher. They are only there for the money. Sure other companies are there for the money but they also care about the quality of the games that represent them. I have not enjoyed an EA game since burnout 3 which was finished before EA bought criterion. Every once in a while they put out a good game, but for every decent game they got 10 or more crappy games saturating the market.

As far as favorite developers/publishers go here are a few

SEGA
Nintendo
Konami
Ubisoft
Capcom
Namco

SuperLuigiBros

^Agreed. Although they add alot to the industry, its all quantity over quality.

I do however respect Square Enix - but I dont really play their games that much.
Nintendo is obviously my favorite. Everything they make is a classic.
Namco and Capcom arnt too bad either, although Capcom pulled a fast one on us Gamecube owners which lost them alot of respect.

Well that's what lots of people share with you. For me a few games are enough to elevate the developer to dedication level. Any game that carry EA's logo surely will get my attention. This dedication and trust could be established through a series of different games or one single game. EA got hold of me through Burnout:Takedown & Revenge, SSX 3 & On Tour, and TimeSplitters. Squarenix through Final Fantasy series, starting from FF7. Capcom through Resident Evil. Namco through Tekken. Tecmo through Fatal Frame.

EA makes a lot of bad games, and a lot of good games.

Burnout 3 & 4
Time Splitters:FP
Madden (I don't buy the games because it usually is the same game over and over, but when I play it I enjoy it!)
The Sims
I can't remember any more...
