OK yesterday I just found out about http://www.bewaresamfisher.com/uk/ the new teaser site for Splinter Cell 4. Appearantly Sam Fisher has flipped his lid and is now robbing banks! This guy has shaved his head and gone on a bank robbing spree.......tsk,tsk.....ANYWAY I have a couple of theories and if I'm right I have unravelled the plot twist already. Yay for me. With the info I've gathered so far I see 2wo possible explanations for Sam's going wrong.

1~ If you read the news article on the site, Sarah Fisher (daughter maybe?) was repotedly killed by a drunk driver while walking home from her college graduation party. It's possible that all this is a staging for her kidnapping and only Sam knows and has been instructed by the kidnappers not to get the "Third Echelon" involved so he takes matters into his own hands with the bank robberies having something to do with getting his relative back.

2~ Sam Fisher really has gone wrong. Looking at the papers I notice he was dishonerably discharged. Maybe he got greedy and wanted in on some terrorist plan to rob a series of banks. OR with his daughter dead he has nothing else to lose so he says, "To hell with it!" and throws his life away. If this is true this gives Ubisoft the oppourtunity to freshen up the franchise with a new main character. Sam is getting old.

I think I'm a little warmer with theory #1 but both are possible. All I can say is this new information has all of a sudden gotten me really interested in Splinter Cell and I've never even finished a game in the series.

EDIT:

SPLINTER CELL 4? CRIMINAL!

Leaked website picture reveals Sam Fisher's new haircut and bank robbing antics

13:07 Some of you may be aware of Ubi Soft's Splinter Cell 4 teaser site, Bewaresamfisher.com, on which teaser pictures from the fourth-coming (see what we did there) game are often posted. What you won't be aware of, is that Ubi Soft have conviniently put future pictures in numeric order for us to find.

Ubi Soft's promised "new breed of gameplay" is also revealed in the teaser pictures, pinning game star Sam Fisher as a bank robber! Whatever went wrong with the formerly clean cut special force's op? But as you'll see pictures show newspaper cuttings depiciting the former agent's many heists, and a line-up photo of the man sporting a stylish shaved bonce.

Whilst details are obviously sketchy, it appears that players may spend most of the next Splinter Cell game fighting the law rather than upholding it, whilst indulging in a spot of mugging and bank robbery on the side. Personally can't wait to stick it to the man with a few robberies.

See below for the damning evidence.

theory number 2wo looks all the more likely after reading the newspaper clip below. SHAME on you Sam!

Seems a bit strange that Ubisoft would take the series in this direction. I mean, if it works, great, but it's gonna require some real fudging.

Fisher is a hero, they would never pose him as a bad guy. I think him being set up/blackmailed whatever, and has to prove his innocence (like every cop movie made in the past 300 years).
also, these could be new co-op missions where the objective range from penetration to stealing to assasination, etc.

in any case, Splinter Cell is a great serious, and is the only game to stand up to MGS IN GAME PLAY ONLY. I have no doubt that Ubi will pull it off yest once again. Ubi is great, I love those Frenchies!

Well now! goody little two-shoes Sam Fisher finally cracks... maybe he's been taking orders for too long... Rebel Soldiers *cough*Solid Snake*cough* are always cool (as long as they are the good guy in the end)

I don't know man. It is possible that Sam just snapped when he lost his daughter. They DID say he killed innocent people and use some as human sheilds (only thing about this I'm skeptical of is whether there were any witnesses to the murders). Also this IS a Tom Clancy and he's an author so I wouldnt just cross out the possibility that he's moving the series along and getting rid of the current main character in an inventive way to progress the series (i.e. I think it's possible we won't be playing as Sam Fisher this time if he's really a bank robber/murderer but a new guy who has to bring him in).

and so the theme would be; SHIT HAPPENS

Lots of new updates to the site. Check them out. New messages that explain whats going on. Sounds like Sam plead guilty and then esacped the prison via a helicopter. Also, he never wore a mask during any of the robberies and never shot out any cameras....

Maybe he's trying to gain credibility to go undercover with criminal elements?

After 3 installments, its time to move the series. Lets see if this works out for UbiSoft or is this all just a big hoax to build hype maybe....
