okay i know you're saying.....this old topic again????......but i was wondering, if the 360 can play at least popular xbox titles will I be able to transfer the game saves on my xbox hard drive to the 360 hard drive? I mean I worked real hard for some of those achievements. Will I have to replay those xbox games from scratch on the 360

Good question. I don't see why you couldn't.

First of all, most people who owns XBOX is going the get XBOX 360, why is backward compatibility so important, is it because are you guys plan to replace Xbox with xbox306?
I am planning to keep my Xbox and MS will still support my Xbox live for Xbox so I am not worry about it.

In other hand Revolution backward compatibility is important because they are marketing the revolution to non-game cube owners and I think this is smart move, but XBOX and PS3, I don’t think backward compatibility is that important.

By the way any new on MOD chip for Xbox360? I am planning to buy core version, I will be end-up upgrading my hard drive anyway.

jjocka why would you want to have the xbox and xbox360 hooked up at the same time? It's the same reason why ps2 is backwards compatible. It makes more sense to just have one console hooked up that can do both (saves alot of space). As for transfering saves, I have read at many places that no, you will not be able to do so.

Some people like to hold on to their consoles, no matter how outdated they are.

As for mod chips, I'm sure they will show up eventually, but hopefully not for a while. I don't want to deal with that bullshit.

I thought I remember reading some where that you would not be able to transfer game saves and the likes. I could be wrong though.

Well, there have already been some stolen 360 dev kits......rumors are there might be "hacks" available at launch. But we will have to wait and see.

okay, how about this: if you can play Box games on X2, then you obviously can save game files on it, be it on memory cards or HDD. so, you can find a way to get you'r box saves on a PC by ripping off the HDD and connecting it to a PC, find an adaptor for Box memory cards to PC, etc. be creative. then you can easily download them from your PC to X2 which will be a snitch with all the PC connectivity functions being marketed about X2.
so, if you get your Box saves on X2, wouldn't you then be able to play them?
