Im happy that theres a mixture in the groups unlike the groups at Euro 2002.
Its hard to pick the strongest group but id have to go on a limb here and pick group E as the strongest

The U.S. will probably beat Ghana, but they will get their asses kicked by Italy and the Czech Republic barring some miracle.

Well all they have to do is finish second in the group to move on...even though im not a fan of the USA in football i think they could edge out a result against Italy since the Italians have a reputation to not score when they need to.
They should beat Ghana but will most probably get beaten convincingly by the Czech Republic (even without Nedved)

US is better than they have been in the past. They aren't cup contenders but I can see them beating Italy, Ghana, or Czech Rep. Long gone are the days of America sucking complete ass at soccer. We are actualy good this year.

i agree with jon. the US shouldn't be underestimated. they beat mexico in a friendly match a few months ago and Mexico is a damn good team this year.
i think the US is capable of beating Italy..

To be fair, I haven't watched USA play in a long time, so I have no idea how they are progressing. I just think highly of Italy and especially Czech Republic. The Czechs have a great team, as they proved in Euro 2004.

Yeah all of you make good points, but when it come down to the most important competition the real good teams step up to the challange.

I see Italy and Czech Republic progressing through the group mainly because of their so called "stature" in world football. We've all seen how good the Czech play, and we all know Italy has won the world cup on several occasions (2 if im not mistaken), but if there ever was a better time to beat Italy or the Czech's it would be at next years World Cup.

BTW. i hope that Italy and Czech go through. Sorry all the guys going for the USA.

I need to look into the teams a little more before I make any predictions but I think you're always safe to say that England will make it pretty far. I think US will make it at least past first round. We'll see.

Ronaldinho is going to own it up this year.

Hmm well I was talking to my brother and he informed me that Czech Republic is actualy ranked 2 overall. I wasn't aware they were that good. I guess that means GG USA. You never know though.

Yeah i based me predictions for Group E from the current rankings and what ive seen of them, and as you said the Czechz are ranked very high and so is Italy.
The chance is there for the USA but its not a relativly large chance.

One team that i forgot were France. These guys had a shocking World Cup in 2002 and a moderate performance in Euro 2004...but alsways France just seems to look so good on paper that its hard to count them out, and the same things go for the Netherlands.

Its not that bad for the US, i think they can beat the czech (sp) republic, or at least draw, italy may beat the czech and ghana... then US may only need to draw with italy, or even if they lose, the czech will have 4 points and so does the US, all depends how many goals they score against ghana... but then again ghana can be the reincarnation of last edition's world cup SENEGAL.

I hope US makes it to the next round and they face Mexico and ahahah.... revenge!!
