Condemned for PS3???

Condemned looks fantastic, I am green with envy knowing the Xbox 360 gamers get to play this game...But I was checking out some websites (IGN, Ebgames.com etc.) and from what I found so far, I guess it is safe to say that we will be able to investigate those creepy criminal dwellings on our beloved PS3's....w00t!

Condemned is a fantastic game, a very refreshing look at your typical FPS. It is on the short side but this shouldnt by any means stop people from playing the game (if u dont wanna buy it you should definetely give it a rental).

As far as I know it should be a launch title for the PS3, hopefully Sega will add something to the package since there is an additional 6 months in the dev schedule (hopefully another level or online co-op).

Any extra's would be welcomed for sure, but even if it was just ported over (Good Port that is) with no changes...I would still be very happy. I also hope Bethesda ports Oblivion over to PS3 one day...Wishful thinking I guess!

I played the beginning on a friends 360, graphics were good, but the overall creepy atmosphere is what grabbed me. I checked out the reviews on it and they were nothing special. You are probably right then, maybe this game is only worth a rental!

Quake 4 is insane. This is what Doom 3 should have been all along. My 6600 GT (OC) card just screams with this game same with COD2!

Yeah, don't get me wrong the beggining was scary as hell and the game looked cool and the concept worked very well with the gadgedts and such it just didn't use what was there as much as it should've and the story is REALLY bad you run around and kill "Crazed and drugged up ppl" Your a cop killing ppl crazy... It's kinda like Doom 3 in the fact it had potential, it was just shallow, I still enjoyed Doom 3 though, ppl made WAY too big of a damn deal about the flashlight problem. Geez in HL2 it's the future yet your flashlight dies every 10 seconds??? hmm I smell fish... Rental, sure, buy, nah... not unless you have a fetish for knocking teeth out of ppl's mouths with a pipe O.O Wait I do.... never mind ^.- heh heh.... Silly Condemned game.

Cod 2 is sweet as well, beat it just last week, had to sell it though because I came up short on Christmas money ^.^

HL2 is my online game so I wont miss cod2 too much, DOD Source is so much fun to play even though I suck at it, same with Counter Strike Source, ppl take those game too serious though >.> makes me angry!

While being a "refreshing" new titles I've played the game and let's just say refreshing may not always be fun. I guess the only thing I will be doing with this game is comparing the differences (visually) between the PS3 and 360 version.

Yeah, that pretty much seems it up for me. I only saw some pictures of it and some short gameplay video( a guy picking up a pipe and hitting people with it)..errr fun(sarcasm). I dont even like the way the games looks(last time i saw it looked kinda shinny like Gears of War)..argh..turn off.

Not going to lose sleep if this Condemned never comes out for the PS3, IMO its average game.

Its too bad you suck at DOD:S, im better than average as far as DOD:S goes, i play different class, but with the sniper class i usually play alittle bit crazy, using my sniper rifle as a shotgun with many kills :D

I haven't played Condemned, but from what I understand it's over shadowed by it's sister title FEAR on PC. If you want to play a spooky monolith shooter, fear is your first choice.

We disagree a lot it seems... nothing personal as of yet. Lets just say I am patient but not patient enough for that game, plus I've talked to a very sincere kid whose an xbox360 whore who beat the game and said it was nothing special. 8.2 is an average buddy, nothing new nothing great, like doom3 and the other onslaw of fps's that have been coming out.

Not like those reviewers ever know what they are talking about, shit some of those launch titles were balls and they got 8's, the last honest review I read online was for the 360 basketball game and they gave it a 5.1 and I almost screamed for joy "finally an honest reviewer who isn't afraid to say shit is shit"

Don't get your hopes up for a PS3 Condemned. It's been cancelled before the Xbox 360 even launched.

Problem is so many games end up this way...they start out great but fall flat...I hate that! From what you've explained so far it sounds like a dud! I was hoping for somthing unique but it is afterall just a release title!

FEAR...At first I didn't much care for it...I wanted more scares and less run and gun...until I started using the slow motion mode....that is just way too much fun! FEAR is one game I will play again!

So you dont have a 360 and have very limited time with the games yet you feel confident to judge them based on one or two reviews that belittle the games. That really sounds rather fan-boyish and biased. Oh and Im sure all the other reviewers have no idea what they are talking about especially considering that they depend on the quality of their reviews to stay in business.

Condemned looked cool to me when it was first announced. However, I've heard mixed reviews of it being bad and good, too short, dull, fun, etc. Doesn't matter, I'll still get it if it ever comes to PS3, just to try it out.

Woundingchaney, you're one of the first that has said that F.E.A.R is not a great game. Then again I don't really like Prince of Persia on current gen consoles so nothing odd about your stance. ;)

If we look through the reviewers, F.E.A.R is quite up there; usually scoring 90%. It's a really amazing FPS with blood, gore and lets not forget about the "striking" language. Others should get it. :)

Jupiter, I just started playing Thief Deadly Shadows, I am a huge fan of the first Thief game and Riddick was a nice twist on FPS games, shanking mofos and all. I loved Manhunt, guess that makes me kinda twisted.

To clarify on my oppinion, the game is shallow and I hold no interest in playing it on the PS3. The CSI concept was cool and it's too bad they threw it out the window. The graphics are terrible on it and I think that most next gen games should surpass PC which Condemned did not.

Playing experience, knowledge of game development in general, and others' oppinions all make the best way to form an oppinion on a game. Reviews are one of the worst but they do help to form a good one.

As for what nodieza likes...shit..that guy, he likes the Playstation spirit but doesn't own that many games (as he said) but has the most games for the DS among me and all of my friends.

But F.E.A.R....come on Wounding, that's cold. It's a solid title and probably the best FPS since HL2. If it were ported to the PS3, I would say the graphics would be disappointing but the gameplay is really awesome.

To play down the absolutly stunning action in F.E.A.R is like downplaying the whole concept of what an FPS is.

The gameplay in F.E.A.R improves on the very basic concepts of how a shooter should play.

I'm guessing you aren't looking forward Black either Chaney since it plays on the whole concept of improving how guns feel, fire, and effect the environment like F.E.A.R?

Anyways, Condemned is just an okay game. It isn't bad, but it isn't worth the price it is selling for.

Condemned's first-person gameplay is very innovative, but Chronicles of Riddick was a much better game and did the whole first-person melee combat just as good.

Nod all I said was that I dont care for FEAR, I own the game, I beat the game, it just doesnt stand out to me. Thats all. What the hell does FEAR have anything to do with what we are talking about. FEAR was a good game but it wasnt really anything overly impressive to me, excellent action sequences but really rather bland throughout the rest of the game. That was my take on the game, its actually a good game but I wasnt impressed by it (its nothing that you cant find else where). If I made a thread about FEAR being a horrible game I would expect backlash because its not true and the same can be said about your stance on Condemned. I could go on and on about about FEAR's lack of characters on screen, weak storyline, repetetive env., repetetive action sequences which are all faults to the game, but that doesnt by any means make it a bad game (do you see what Im getting at here).

This guy made a thread about Condemned, then I came into the thread said "Hey that condemned is a good game you should try it out". You come in the thread and give your expert opinion as to why it isnt. I didnt quite agree so I posted the gamer ranking scores that showed it to be a good game. You then replied Hey those scores are ridiculous blah blah blah and then went on to quote one score of several proclaiming it to be the holy grail of all Condemned reviews. I then replied that I thought your view was biased and somewhat fanboyish. If you look at many posts on these boards the arguments and discussions are very one sided and fanboyish. I own the game, I enjoyed the game, the majority of reviews agree that it is a good game, yet Im wrong. Thats fine if you personally dont care for the game, the majority agrees with me, so yeah I must be a blathering idiot that has nothing better to do than disagree with everything posted on this board.

Danji I understand your view that a game in the next gen should look better than anything out previous to it. As far as the graphics, nearly every reviews praised the graphics so I cannot see as to how they are terrible. But you express interest in Unreal for the PS3 which is a PC port, many games in the next gen are going to be comparable to the PC (I think thats what Kojma was getting at, he isnt the only one to state something along these lines). I play a game for what it is worth, not some view of what next gen should be (I think that we all may be disappointed if we expect awe insipiring things from the PS3 and 360 this next gen, or at least their comparisons to the PC and to one another).

I just started playing Thief Deadly Shadows, I am a huge fan of the first Thief game and Riddick was a nice twist on FPS games, shanking mofos and all. I loved Manhunt, guess that makes me kinda twisted.

Thief DS is good but it seems to be missing what the first two had. DS was built for consoles and it shows. Don't get me wrong...it's still Thief, but I prefer 1 and 2 overall!

Being sane is highly overrated, like I've said before normal people are bring. Wounding and me have had a few arguments but yeah, he's no fanboy but he, like just about everyone, has his moments.

Theif DS? huh? they made theif for ds? Deadly Shadows aka Theif 3. I was talking about the pc version, I played 1 and 3, both awsome.

FEAR has a lot to do with it, it's an excellent FPS IMO unlike Condemned IMO.
Where's condemned strong story line, many characters on screen etc? Non repetitive combat?

You haven't given any reasons as to why condemned is a good game, or why it's Worse than FEAR which is only "okay" in your opinion.

Of course they praised the graphics, for a console game it's great and all but for a $400 "next gen" game it's not that impressive compared to high end pc's. And I know you got at this but $450 for condemned?... I dunno.

I also apologize for being childish with the whole Mod comment and Gasoline thing and cursing. I do get heated up... sorry.

Nod I didnt post specifics for liking the game but here they are,

good story line (not the best but definite room for advancement in sequels)

excellent direction to take fps

excellent use of melee combat

best overall atmosphere in a game (just edges out doom 3)(imo)

good/very good graphics (I have no idea what bar you guys set your graphical comparisons at)

excellent use of sound

excellent enemie AI

no comment on physics (didnt really stand out one way or the other)



Nod my opinion does often time differ from many on the board and at times I do get overly defensive (it is a PS3 board and often anyone w/ a pro MS view
needs to be a little defensive, even if he is pro Sony as well (nudge nudge wink wink). I thought that I do have a tendency to back up my views but since you pointed this out I will be more cautious in the future.

There is no need to apologize :thumbl: we can disagree all day and I as well have a tendency to get out of line also so no hard feelings man.

Sorry for the confusion, No there is no Thief for the DS. I was just abbreviated the name of the PC title Thief (DS= Deadly Shadows)
