Is it just me, or is this game drastically UNDERrated? I had a ton of fun with this game, and I'm not even a big DBZ fan...I thought it was a very solid fighter, deserving of much higher scores than it got...anybody agree?

I was overly surprised by the game... "Legacy of Hercule" mode is hillarious... and I like how the game very closely resembles the show in animation and cut scenes... plus the "custom moves" feature is really neat.
Although i only played it for like 2 hrs..I Loved how easy it was to play it(Easiest game to get into control wise since WCW/NWO revenge) And i loved how closely the fighting resembled the over-the-top action of the TV series.

What id like to see is a DBZ RPG. I think it would be cool if it had the Xenogears style battle mode. Just a thought...

I just thought it was cool how many characters there were and how they used the (no matter how crappy) real voice actors from the show...the moves are cool also, the only thing that pissed me off is that you can't jump.

There has been 2 DBZ RPGs in the past... both are embarrassments to the show, especially the most recent "Legacy of Goku".
First mission: "I'd better get all of Roshi's lost magazines before I go...". How to find the magazines? Big white squares on an island. How tough is that?
Second Mission: "walk through the woods... look out for snakes!" Walk? At this point I was certain Goku could fly... and why would a guy that can throw fire balls and kill the universe's strongest fighters need to worry about Snakes?
I stopped playing there.

The no jumping was a problem for like 5 minutes for me... when I discovered you could knock people into the air and fly after them for air combat, it was easily forgotton... heh. I love the way you can bounce fireballs back at each other... THAT's extreme volleyball, beaches.

There was one on the SNES that was mighty bad also...I can't remember the name, though. I have the ROM.

'Twas called "Legend of the Super Saiyan."
I never played through, it was pretty bad.

No, im not talking about a half assed rpg for gameboy or something, im talking an rpg for the next gen consoles. I know there are alot of rpg's, what i should have said was i qish they would make a quality dbz rpg.

What I should have said was "Budokai" is the only decent game DBZ has ever produced. Feel blessed.

i liked final bout better because you could gain levels with a person and fight way more people. I have this game and at first it awesome than it gets kinda boring after you beat it so than you get your friends to come over and play it with you and you are so bored start praying that the tv will blow up so that you will have a little excitement.

Of course it's no VF4, but it is certainly a solid fighter IMO. I was impressed at the large array of moves and the story mode.

but it doesn't necessarily mean it's good if it has those 2 things... it needs a good story mode (me being a DBZ hater) and the moves... fans of DBZ can relate to them so they'd prolly enjoy em a lot more than I do. The fighting engine and the control are horrible and that's what I hate most about the game.

I like a lot more than those two things, but those are the two things that I thought they did the best job on. I like customizing my fighters, the combo/special move system, the control (:D)...but I can see why some people don't like it.

I doubt non DBZ fans will enjoy DBZ games because it just doesn't click.
beat you with two buttons.
one:Guard.
Two:Ki.
Hold Guard, and double tap back to charge up.
Keep hitting you with ki balls until you fall down, and i'll hit you while you are on the ground.
when you get back up, i'll do it again.
the game is shitty...

^Umm...that NEVER works...ever. They deflect it back at you and then it hurts you instead of them.

OK my opinion has changed. I rented it again and after I played it for like 2 hours I couldnt' do it anymore. It gets boring...but it was fun while it lasted.
