Ok, I'll list some stuff. Then you tell me if you have any of it. You can also list stuff, and we will tell you if we have any of it. Simple, right?

let me know if any of you have:

At The Drive-In
"Hell Paso"
"Alfaro Vive, Carajo!"

Omar Rodriguez
"A Manual Dexterity: Soundtrack Volume 1"
"Omar Rodriguez"

De Facto
"Megaton Shotblast"
"Legende Du Scorpion A Quatre Queues"
"How Do You Dub? You Fight For Dub. You Plug Dub In."

The Mars Volta
"Live EP"
"A Missing Chromosome"

John Frusciante
"Smile From The Streets You Hold"

Modest Mouse
"Interstate 8"

Conor Oberst
"Water"

The White Stripes
"Top Special"

There's more, but let me know if you have ANY of what I just listed. I'll be very suprised if anyone actually owns any of these.

I have The Mars Volta "Live EP" and "A Missing Chromosone". I have all the White Stripes albums, but not "Top Original", since that's just a compilation of songs I already have.

Oopsies, it's actually "Top Special" not "Top Original".

my bad.

anyway, "Top Special" is actually a mini-vinyl package that was only available at select shows. It's a little turntable that only plays 3" records. It came with tiny 3" records with one song on each, one of the songs being "Top Special", which is only available in this package. I think the whole get-up sells for around $300 on ebay these days. But I think it may have also come out as a japanese single. Maybe.

Media... how the hell did you get "A Missing Chromosome"? Do you work in a radio station? Because that's what it was distributed to.

Anyway Crow, I'd recommend you start with "De-Loused In The Comatorium". That's what I started with. If you like it, which you should, get "Tremulent EP" and "Frances The Mute". If you like live albums with long pshycadelic guitar solos and effects and drawn out improvs, you should definitely pick up "Scabdates".

Oh, and I think "De Stijl" is the most bluesy of The White Stripes' albums. It's good stuff.

I just found Omar's "A Manual Dexterity".

It's beyond amazing.

Seriously, if you can find it, and you like intense yet spacey instrumental jams, you need it.

Don't have any of those, but I have At the Drive-In - Relationship of command, and The Mars Volta - Frances the Mute.

Gopherchux

actually, the only single on that list is "Top Special".

All the others are either EPs or albums that I've had some trouble finding.

Yeah...Amoeba or Rasputten, when I went to California, had a lot of the stuff that I got.

A Missing Chromosome was in the back of CD Warehouse by where I live. Amazing.

We don't have any good music stores here is Jacksonville. Well, none that I know of...

and "A Missing Chromosome" in a CD Warehouse? Does that make sense? No.

I have the sudden urge to roam the city for rare releases. Saturday sounds like a good idea.

and Dude, what do you mean "dimple records"?

Blaksmoke

I own Interstate 8. More specifically, Building Nothing out of Something, along with every other Modest Mouse release other than The Fruit that Ate Itself.

Who's got...

Gorillaz
El Manana (the only awesome track off of Demon Days)

Muse
Hysteria

Radiohead
Bulletproof (I Wish I Was)
Let Down
Pyramid Song
The Gloaming

Modest Mouse
Head South
Styrofoam Boats/It's All Nice on Ice
The Moon and Antarctica (Greatest album of all time, and should only be listened to as one giant song.)

I own the limited edition of Laika Come Home, if that counts for anything. But it doesn't.

I love Gorillaz.

Gopherchux
01-05-2006, 07:46 PM
what's special about the limited edition of Laika Come Home? I think my friend has all the albums. "Gorillaz", "G-Sides", "Laika Come Home", and "Demon Days". I think that's all of them.

And Blaksmoke, "Building Nothing Out Of Something" is not "Interstate 8". It has that title track on it, but "Interstate 8" was actually an EP they released early on. It actually includes a bonus live recording as well as the existing tracks. And when you ask if we have those songs, do you mean the actually songs, or the singles that they're on?

Yeah, that's all of them. I'm not sure what's so special about it, it just said "special limited edition" when I got it.

Yeah..music is my savior.
you lie, Hell paso was only released on Vinyl and handed out by the band in El paso for 6 months. Unless you frequent used record stores in texas I SERIOUSLY want you to post proof.

For the record my old band used to tour with Sparta whose frontman Jim Ward used to be the right handed guitarist for ATDI. (great guy, totally underrated musicain) Also their other guitarist used to play bass for ATDI. we only met them after the old ATDI drummer who was with them died though but i like this new drummer better. And they told me the guitarist who used to play bass had a bad back injury and is quitting Sparta so a new guitarist will join soon and we have literally no chances of an ATDI reunion. (Jim did tell me a good ATDI breakup story, I never heard it from Sparta's side befor I'll share if anyone cares)

Holy crap, I care mucho. Tell the story. And you know Jim Ward personally? That's sweet.

I actually don't have any of the stuff you listed. I've meant to start listening to Sparta at some point, because I like ATDI so much. I also never really got into the vinyl scene. I grew up with CDs and cassettes. (I only have like, 3 cassettes, so don't start thinking I'm a cassette collector or anything.) Is there any chance I could get some of the mp3s from you? You can PM me if you want. Maybe I have some stuff you'd like in return.

Back when bittorrent was excessively popular and a lot more sites were up than there are now, my brother downloaded a file with most every At the Drive In single on it.

Hell Paso is the one with Grand Mox Turkin, Red Planet, and Emptiness is a Mule, correct?

To find the actual original vinyl versions would be a godsend, aye?

I guess it would have been better to specify how I own each one..Oh well.

For future reference, to clear up confusion, I own original HARDCOPIES of Interstate 8, Live EP, and A Missing Chromosome.

Myahon, if you can find A Missing Chromosome, I highly reccommend you pick it up. It has Concertina and Frances the Mute on it, both of which make me cream numerous times.

I'd love to hear the story if you're willing to share. I'm not much of a Sparta fan.
