Although Joystiq claims it as news its an old old rumour.

It first started around September last year (thats when i first read it on metalgearsolid.org)
and although it hasnt been debunked, Hideo Kojima himself said he will not let just anyone do it and that if it ever happens (a MGS movie) he wants a hand in it.

If the movie were to get the go ahead, i dont really care much about who directs it but i do want Hideo Kojima to be producer/co-director/writer (*wishes*). The movie will loose its touch without his input

Please tell me this is some sort of joke. The MGS Series deserves far more than that prick making balls of it(no pun intended). I bet if you let a group of average gamers direct the film or any game film then it would come out far better than the shit Uwe Boll produces.
