Come, discuss, palaver, and let us share the movie that left you frozen in your seat better than any other.

Here is my pick: A History of Violence

A very tough pick, especially with so many good movies coming on the home stretch, but Cronenberg's movie left me with such a strong impact about a movie that looks at small-town life and the human beings in it that it was impossible for me to forget it. The movie is rich in its sardonic, twisted sense of humor and the violence is not done for kicks. Each death is done with such skill that you will feel a jolt. Added to this, we have tremendous performances from Viggo Mortensen, Maria Bello, Ed Harris, and a scene-stealing job by William Hurt that should get him an oscar nomination. Cronenberg (The Fly, Naked Lunch, Dead Zone) has done his most mainstream work with this jarring film that is Darwinian in its approach and is a real gem for those looking for a movie that plays outside of the box. It is, for me, the best film of 2005 by a hair's breadth.

Honorable mentions: Munich, Syriana, Batman Begins, Crash, Match Point

For me- Star Wars Episode 3

This movie filled in so many gaps that lead into the old sequel.

And the ending was similar to the binary sunset scene on Episode IV, my favorite scene in all that is Star Wars...I had goosebumps all over me when the movie ended.

I give Episode III credit for being the third-best movie in the series, with Empire running first and the original right behind it, but had the first half of the movie been as consistent as the second, who knows?

It's really hard for me. I like the Comic Book movies. A History of Violence, Sin City, Batman Begins, and Constantine. I also like the fantasy movies such as Harry Potter: The Goblet of Fire and The Chronicle of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Also I cannot forgett 40 Year Old Virgin.

Number 1 would be Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It made me laugh, say wow to the special effects, and the morale of the story was great.

Honorable Mentions(In order of my favorite... top being the best)
Chronicles of Narnia
War of the Worlds
King Kong
Batman Begins
Star Wars Episode 3

Still better than Episode II, thankfully, and it actually straightens itself out by the second half. Thats when we get the feeling of the old trilogy.

The Devil's Rejects is 10 times better. I am a big horror movie fan and pretty much didn't like House of 1000 Corpses much. When I saw The Devil's Rejects it was like hell just crosses over. It was great.

I thought the devils rejects was kinda lame. It's not scary in the least bit. Although it did have Diamond Dallas Page.

It wasn't meant to be scary. Horror films are not always their to be scary but also to have a lot of gore and violence. Ussually horror films are not scary what so ever to begin with.

I am not afriad of horror films and never was.

Pro A.

Horror movies play better when they don't have a lot of blood or gore. Halloween and Psycho have very little blood, but they're great for the suspense.
