a question in an interview of the producer of Resident Evil: Deadly Silence (Minoru Nakai)

Do you think that a play Resident Evil can function with the concept of Nintendo Revolution?

It is certain that the lever of Nintendo Revolution will be the key element of the concept, the true question is rather ' the innovation of the series Resident Evil will require obligatorily this new lever with all its new functionalities?' We recently redefined the series with in particular Resident Evil 4, in which the camera was repositioned behind the hero to increase the level of action and the intensity of the gameplay. Even if the jouability of Resident Evil 4 thus remains very led to my taste, we would clearly like to use the potential of the lever of Nintendo Revolution, because the players could end up wearying themselves of this style of gameplay. I think however that it would be perhaps more judicious to develop a play other than Resident Evil on Nintendo Revolution, before attacking this series, and this, to familiarize myself more with this new concept, in order to better benefit from the potential of the lever thereafter. We work there in this moment...

ok to summarise that.

-the question isnt how innovative the Revolution is, but how to innovate the RE series to make good use of the Revolution functionalities.

-RE style gameplay was redefined in RE4 but players could still get bored with this new style. so they would like to us the Revolution's potentials to once again redesign RE gameplay.

-before deciding to make an RE game for Rev they will be making a different game so that they get familiar with the Rev functions and concept. that way the games following (one of which could be RE) would benifit from the experience gained.

so thats the summary of his comment.

seems pretty promising. everyone make sure that you buy that first initial game from Capcom so that they actually go through with making a Rev exclusive innovative Resident Evil.

Good news and bad news. Capcom seems to be taking the Revolution controller seriously, and they want their games to fully utilize it. However, it depends how long it will take for them to turn around and develop the RE for Revoltution after this "other" game. It might be quite a while (or perhaps they are well along with the initial game), and in the mean time Xbox 360 and PS3 owners will be enjoying RE5.

I'm getting tired of repeating this:

Undecided. Capcom has not yet decided to port RE 5 to the Revolution for obvious reasons. They even used "undecided" in their actual press sheet.

And with this, it's safe to say that the Revolution will get RE 5, as long as it's graphically powerful enough to support it.

Furthermore, the developer is talking about an entirely different project, not an "exclusive" Resident Evil that utilizes the unique features of a particular platform, à la Deadly Silence for the DS.

At least I'll know that on the Rev I'll be able to pop off zombie heads alot more quicker and more efficiently... I wonder if Capcom will release another remake, like they did for the GC...

I know the Rev will proving excellent training for the upcoming zombie apocolypse

Resident Evil Revived

It's the ultimate re-released restart of an improved remake of more than just a port of the first Resident Evil game released on the Playstation 10 years ago. Millions of dollars of will spent on that bold "Rev" in the name.

C'mon Capcom. They could either give use Devil May Cry, Dino Crisis, or Resident Evil 1.5 (further along the series would be better though)

Im happy they are trying a new IP, the same stuff can get boring after a while. and who knows, if its actually a good game, then thats a new franchise that will be thought of as on a nintendo system, like.....viewtiful joe..1...for like a year....

If RE5 doesnt come out for rev, then w.e. if its good im gonna have to play it (cus re4 is close to the top of my list) and i plan on getting another console anyway. X360 or ps3 is all i dont know...
