Football games are all just football. The sport doesn't change and there isn't any difference in the feilds besides cosmetic differences, and players are basically just a bunch of different people, so there can't be too much different from game to game besides graphic improvements, new tunes, and maybe changes in what players play on what teams. Obviously, I am not a football fan, but I never expected that Madden 2004 would be different from 2003 or 2002 asside from cosmetics.
This isn't news, but this is a news section. If I were a mod, I'd move it. That is not within my power, so we'll just have to wait for somebody else to do it. Until then, this will be cluttering the news forum.

Yes, yes it will. Madden is an old bastard, though.

Just like the NHL games. I only buy a new one every 2 years. I have 2003 now so I will get 2005 next. The reason is simple, they don't change enough in a year to make it worth buying. If you wait 2 years, it will be better because then you can notice the change.

Yeah, Madden still made some improvements this year, I'll admit, but I believe overall ESPN is the better game. Better graphics, sound, presentation, as well as more fun (although I have not played the new Madden extensively, but thats what I heard concerning the fun factor, which held true in past years too). Madden does have a better Franchise mode though, of course.
Madden 2004 is a bastard son of a bastard. (hehe, thats a quote from The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams. Amusing, no?)

I always liked the player designs from Sega and Visual Concepts...I thought Madden's were too, well, "squatty." However, regardless of your stylistic preferences, I think from a pure graphical standpoint ESPN trumps Madden.

Haven't these Madden games been the same since like '98?

Despite our joking, they have certainly changed for the better...probably only because NFL 2K/ESPN Football forced them to.

Madden blows! AND THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE BECAUSE IT'S MY OPINION! (somebody throws a baseball and breaks a window)

I wouldn't say it blows at all...games like Gameday, the recent Fever release, etc. blows. I just like ESPN better.

Madden: How a guy can kick a kickoff out of bounds is beyond me...
Me: DIE MADDEN!
