Which console will own this year in your opinion.
Right now, Skies of Arcadia and Zelda are enough for me to cry "gamecube". I'm not sure what'll happen after that.

its once again the year of playstation 2. im sure many people agree even if they dont want to. the ps2 has to much of a gap for the gamecube to reach in my opinion. i have a gamecube and i love it but u have to be honest, do you really think 2 games will make gamecube #1?

For 2003 and 2002... many of those polled has said the cube will or had the best software..Yet Xbox is in second.. I guess "Gigamahurtz" and agressive advertising work.

Year of whichever you prefer: XBox or GameCube. Seriously though, what does the PS2 have this year? Uh................. well................... hmmmmmmmmmmmm..................... maybe a new GTA? That seems to be about it.

Well, there's that Nokia handheld and the *horror* threatening almighty Phantom. Seriously though, just like last year, I'm sure GameCube will dominate the award charts and snag all the critics' praise.

i own a gamecube and only a gamecube unless u count my dreamcast as anext gen. and i didnt say gamecube, i said ps2.

PS2 rarely gets anything outstanding... Gamecube is the biggest risk-taker as far as software is concerned (Animal Crossing, Giftpia, Cel-Shaded Zelda), but X-Box is breaking grounds in online... but that's about it.
PS2 doesn't need to take any real risks because any game they release (on it's 30 million user base) has more of a chance of selling a million and becoming "a major hit". Dropping prices, free games, memory cards, console colors, pack-in modems, GBA Players, and all kinds of stuff and innovations are coming with Gamecube and X-Box... as far as accomplishments are concerned, it'd have to be one or the other of those.
In my opinion, the year 2003 will go to Gamecube just for having the most original software being developed for it, plus for taking it's first steps into online waters (X-Box had that in 2002). The Gamecube add-ons, the broadband adapter becoming more readily available (and dominatly displayed) on game websites should be a hint for you skeptics... but, tear this apart, I don't care. Like I always say, wait until 01-01-2004 before you start criticizing.
X-Box have good games? Yeah... but most are PC ports, or something that can be bought on PC. Very little is being developed soley for X-Box (but there's maybe one or two) that really shines, in my opinion. AIAS should be that wake-up call...

If you've noticed ... a nice numbe of people have voted for something rather than X Box and Ps2 ... and of course more people are going to say Gamecube, what were you expecting?

He means that in his own opinion, probobly for the same reasons I said (more original titles, legacy to live up to, getting more active in trying to actively promote/sell consoles). Please no statistics or finger pointing here guys... this is an opinion thread.

sure, ps2 and xbox will probably sell better. I go to my friends, "which console do you like best?" them being casual gamers go "Ps2" or "xbox" now, they are both respect able choices, but when you ask "why?" then things get scary. "well xbox has Halo" Or "ps2 had gta." Other than that they have no reason to pick them. But, overall the gamecube will probably have more ground breaking hits than either ps2 or xbox.

If any system is for the hardcore games, it's XBox. I mean, look at some of the titles:
- Steel Battalion
- Gunvalkyrie
- Jet Set Radio Future
- Panzer Dragoon Orta
- Crimson Sea
- Deathrow
- Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
- Shenmue II
- Oddworld

Yeah. You gotta be hardcore to blow 200$ on a game. And it sold awesome for being a 200$ game. Sold out in North America, sold the first 20,000 shipments in Japan on the first day, etc. :P

Well I just have to hope for it to be the year of the cube but I also believe Ninteno will pull it off this year with some kickass titles such as Zelda:The Wind Waker and hopfully mario Kart.
No Particular Year Belongs to Playstation 2 because this is already Sony's Era. Instead ill say Nintendo will have another good year. Microsoft will have a good year as well, but not as good as Nintendo. I Think Nintendo will Catch Up To Xbox In Europe, and here as well, with the release of Zelda, and all those other highly anticipated titles.

-GTA III & VC
-Auto Modellista
-Final Fantasy X
-Other racing games
Why i own my Gamecube:
-Super Mario Sunshine (Yuck)
-Luigi's Mansion (Average)
Here we don't get Animal Crossing, so that's stupid...I do prefer my PS2 over the Gamecube for those reasons.
Actually DODGE, Australlia is getting Animal Crossing later this year.

Considering its not localized, the time zones are different, and the seasons are different in Australia, it wouldn't do them too much good.....

The Xbox because of fable, Deux 2, Halo2, Return To Castle Wolf (live) Project Gotham 2, the next oddworld game.
+ my fave game in the world Half-life 2 and my second favorite game in the world C-strike.

Miyamoto already confirmed another Mario game by the years end!! and Another Zelda is already being made to be released sometime in 2004(Hopefully this one will include Majoras Mask Master Quest or Something Like That) Mario Kart, Final Fantasy, F-Zero, Star Fox, Some of The Capcom 5 and other good stuff.

The was never a MM master quest... the OoT master quest was taken from the 64DD... they never made one for MM...
And i think this zelda will have the 'graphics everyone is looking for' if you know what i mean... i still think that if they rush it, it won't be as good as it could be... They should take their time with it...
