EA's Porting and the Virtual Console.

Every time EA craps out another crappy game, it's on every system imaginable. Xbox 360, Xbox, Gamecube, PS2, GBA, DS, PSP, Cellphone, PC, etc.

Rev's virtual console is like 3 consoles in one. NES, SNES, and N64. Maybe Dreamcast etc too.

So What's stopping EA from porting their 'hottest' new games to those as well?! Download Madden 08 for SNES. Need for Speed: Karate Bikini Babes for N64. The Sims 3 for Dreamcast! Medal of Honor: WW2 1/2 for NES!

It would take little work at all and would be cheap to publish it, just have the servers to download it from.

Just something to think about/fear.

hey they could even have a few third parties make some new Snes games exclusively for download. Whether or not that is profitable remains to be seen though.

Thanks for putting a good spin on EA crapping out a new james bond every year on everything from Ngage to Virtual Boy.

Actually, Miyahon has a very good idea. Developers making new games for old systems.

As for EA, well... who's gonna stop them? Maybe Nintendo won't allow it, but I doubt they'd do that...

You know..... ..... I can totally see it happening.

Lets say a Game Boy Advance game was made and that said company wanted to also make it downloadable for...say the SNES... all they would have to do is provide an emulator and vioala.

It plausible... not sure if it will end up happening...but who knows.
(and yes...nintendo would have to allow it... as all the virtual console content has to go through Nintendo first.)

Some companies are still making games for Dreamcast in Japan.

It doesn't have to be for an old system. They can just create games of that sprite graphics and 2d nature and make it as d/lable rev game.
