I actually don't think you can. Doing the manually manage trick only works Mac to Mac or PC to PC. But hey, give it a shot.

Well it'll ask you to sychronize your iPod with your current Library and it'll wipe the songs currently on it.

Actually it will have to be reformatted for Mac. Only the Shuffle has universal formatting.

Actually it will have to be reformatted for Mac. Only the Shuffle has universal formatting. If it's Windows formatted (FAT32) it'll work on either Mac or Windows. You can't boot off of it unless it's FireWire and HFS+ though.

But I still think it will reformat the iPod before it transfers... Let us pray I am wrong, lest God has abandoned us.

But I still think it will reformat the iPod before it transfers... Let us pray I am wrong, lest God has abandoned us.The latest firmware update chanaged that. You can pick a file system and restore via it now.

My mac is named "Caitlyn" because I really like the name.
The windows machine is mine...it was just used as a jukebox/print station. Was hoping I didn't have to spend more time tonight getting my music on the iPod.

Just use a crossover cable.

Just use a crossover cable. That or FireWire internet sharing if you're using a router. If you're on a single IP instead of a 192.168.xxx.xxx or 10.0.0.x one you can't share your internet access. Networking time! :-)

Well, most PeeCees don't have firewire, hence the ethernet.

No, use Senuti. Far better application. It works just fine. I copied songs off of my iPod to my Quicksilver at work. It seemed to crash more often when transfering more than 50 songs at once. Then again it is Beta software.
