That's interesting, but isn't it a bit late to ask for someone to do or help doing that? It makes me think it won't be ready for PS3 launch, assuming Lair should be available at launch.

depends on the launch date. They still might have 5-6+ months b/4 launch.

Or maybe it won't make it to Japanese launch, assuming it will be before the end of Spring 2006.

I doubt Lair will be available for launch, especially if this is true. This doesnt necessarily point to online play though (although that would be my guess as well). It could simply be for leaderboards, update possibilities, patches, watching others play (like gotham tv) any number of things. Although some of the requirements and intended job duties lead me to believe that Lair will indeed have some form of online mp or co-op (especially the player matchmaking part).

There hasnt been much info on Lair since it was announced, what are the gameplay mechanics like (last time I checked all I could find was a brief statement and a video). Does anyone even know what genre it is in???

It think it will be in the Dragon fighting genre :) j/k

I am very anxious to see any new news on this game, but man...this title sure gives me an allusion towards Drakenguard (not Panzer Dragon oddly enough).

I wouldn't mind seeing Drakenguard being brought into a new light on the PS3.

Man that game had the greatest commercial for a videogame ever (too bad the I can't say the same for the gameplay though) lol. It was as good as the old RE2 commericals.

That was the only time I ever got convenced into buying a new videogame because of a commerical.

Wow, I'm really off topic...sorry.

Hmmm... Untill I get some gameplay info on this game I won't really know what to think of an online mode for this game anyway.

Maybe they are just looking for help so they can optimize the game much faster on the final dev kits.

yeah, they could be adding more people to finish up faster and help iron out some things. also, it would be very short sighted to think they are emplying people just for their first title release on PS3. they are looking ahead. this will include future projects other than Lair. they have already announced another title for PS3.
in any case, this is good news. they are obviously busy and hiring. Lain looks fantastic- one of the best visuals on next gen. it also seems new and refreshing. it will have thousands of kick ass dragons flying around and things look good.

looking forward for anything from this team.

Lair and I-8 Likely to Be Online for PS3

Both Factor 5, makers of the upcoming dragon-themed game Lair, and Insomniac, who will be bringing their first person shooter I-8 to the PS3, are looking for programmers to help construct an online environment for their respective games. The former is seeking a Game Networking Programmer, while the latter is looking for an Online Lobby Programmer.

Though this indicates the likelihood that both titles will feature online components (especially in the case of I-8, considering Insomniac's recent Ratchet and Clank games have featured networked multplayer), some people are worried that it may hint at the lack of a unified Xbox Live-type for Sony's next-gen console.
