A certain job posting makes it seem like the Guilty Gear developer is working on an Xbox Live game...

Clearly, there are many fighting game enthusiasts who adore the Guilty Gear franchise. Its hi-res characters and backgrounds, unique fighter selection, and deep gameplay make it a very appealing 2D fighter. Fans who've wanted to see this franchise go online, just might (might being the keyword here) have their wish granted.

A recent Sammy Studios job posting found on Gamasutra.com, indicates that Sammy is looking for someone with "strong Xbox and online testing experience." While Sammy has not made any announcements regarding Xbox Live, this job posting is certainly a good sign. Guilty Gear is one of Sammy's more popular franchises, but it's possible one of the other series such as Lethal Skies, Seven Samurai 20XX, or others could get the online treatment.

We spoke with a Sammy representative about Xbox Live and Guilty Gear Isuka. Take a look at what we found out.

Last week we reported on Guilty Gear publisher Sammy looking for people with Xbox Live experience. A few weeks ago we also featured a story concerning Guilty Gear Isuka, the latest title in the franchise, possibly having online capabilities when it releases on home consoles. We contacted Sammy and now have a few minor details to share with you.

While the Sammy representative we spoke with would not confirm that Guilty Gear Isuka will be one of the publishers first online titles, he did indicate that online gaming is becoming a huge market segment and the company is very interested in keeping up with its progress. In regards to Xbox Live the Sammy rep also mentioned that the company is monitoring it closely. When asked specifically about Guilty Gear Isuka, the representative said that Sammy values the franchise and will fully support each new title, but the publisher hasn't made any console plans for Isuka.

These two facts don't tell us a lot, but we all know that Guilty Gear Isuka will be heading to home consoles at some point. Having confirmation that Sammy is watching Xbox Live closely, and will fully support Isuka makes it seem as though the game has a good chance of coming to Microsoft's Xbox with full Live capabilities. We'll have more on Guilty Gear Isuka and the possibility of Sammy going Live as more news becomes available.

This can only help Microsoft in Japan - and we all know how badly they need help.
