Cable Question

I want to know what the difference between a composite cable and a component cable? I would like to know which to get for my GC. Answer would be appreciated!

Component cable is better than composite. the component is the best cable right now. Component cable keeps the red, green, and blue signal seperate. The composite mixes the three colors together. The mixing degrades signal quality. I use component on my ps2 and i compared it next to my friends ps2 running on composite. The quality is better, but only a little.
