PS3 to support Motion Portrait?
Motion Portrait is a new program developed by Sony, which changes a person’s head into a 3D model and updates it to reflect emotions or movements.
This has got a lot of Japanese gamers arguing whether the upcoming Sony next-gen console will incorporate the Motion Portrait software. This could prove very popular for online gaming as it would allow gamers to visualize their opponents; this could be part of the Xbox Live "killer" that everyone is talking about.
Motion Portrait is not only limited to faces as demonstrated in a demo on Japanese television, which illustrated a pineapple talking and wearing sun glasses.
The implications for this sofwtare could be huge if used correctly. Lets hope Sony plays their cards well.

I don't know if anyone posted this yet, but I thought it was pretty interesting nonetheless. I've recently came to a conclusion about the innovation of the industry. I only say this because many real GAMERS feel the industry has become stagnant in this respect. While a lot of the general consensus is that Nintendo continues to innovate while M$ and Sony battle for popularity, I disagree completely. I think the industry has grown dramatically, and like any other form of media that gets popular, a lot of garbage can come out of it. Anyway, sitting down playing Eyetoy Kinetica the other day(actually I wasn't sitting), I've realized that Sony really did innovate tremendously with this device. And with the next generation of it, It will only go even further. Also, while I may not be a avid online gamer, XBox live is very, very comfortable. Everything is seamless and smooth, and while I believe all these things should be free, I cant argue its worthiness. So while Nintendo may be taking the biggest risk by changing their overall controller, all companies innovate the industry and each one benefits off one another.
Sorry for the rant fellas but at this time of the year, with 360 slowly coming into the light, PS3 and Rev. geting closer and closer to releasing, We should reflect on everything and just sit back and enjoy the games. I think everyone here will agree that video games is one of the best forms of entertainment, I think its time for us to be entertained dammit! LOL... Also, I see a lot of educated people in this forum, I hope many of you go into the videogame industry and succeed and change the industry for the better. No I'm not just ranting, I really do see a lot of potential in many of the users here. I myself will Minor in New Media technology to start off my education about how video games work and such. With my Major being Health Information, I don't know how far or where video games will take me, but, time will tell I guess. Here's to the BEST ONLINE FORUM EVER BABY!!!
