Music Updating program/Help

I've been having some trouble with updating my music recently. I picked up a laptop a while ago and let WMP update all of my music. I had to disconnect from the net and the job was 1/2 done, anyways ever since I have reconnected it never updates the old music no matter how hard I try. I have tried every possible way in WMP and it won't do it. It loves to move my files around the place but thats about it. So how can I update the rest of my collection. I have heard of programs that update for you. Can anyone suggest one for me to use?

What do you mean by updating your music online. Does it automatically fill out your ID tags with artist, album, title, artwork, etc?

I have always just manually updated mine as I add new files to my library.

Ive spent ages doing some research and found that I'm better ripping to ogg thru another program that updates in the same way that AEC does. Same database and all.
