What do you guys think of this system I am going to buy? Should I change anything or add anything?

1. eVGA 256-P2-N518 Geforce 7800GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16
2. eVGA 133-K8-NF41 Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD
3. AMD Athlon 64 4000+ San Diego 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Processor Model
4. CORSAIR XMS 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200)
Unbuffered System Memory Model TWINX2048-3200C2PRO - Retail

I am thinking of getting this just so I can play Planetside better :D but I would like a system that I could add to it and I think this would be it.

As for everything else I already have the DVD burner, HD and 21" wide LCD Screen so this is the last step before WD raptor drives.

The only thing that ya might want to think about is AMD is switching sockets again soon and gooing to add DDR2 support supossedly up to 800 Mhz but other than that it is a very nice system. I wish I could afford one as nice.

Got to jump in sometime you never can stay on top of the new releases unless your filthy stinking godly rich.

That would be a good system.

That looks like a pretty good bare bone system in the works. Should do you alright. The other thing to look at is instead of going 64 bit, you can go with a dual processor. There is not a lot currently that takes advantage of the 64 bits.

But there is also not a lot taking advantage of the dualcore proc yet:( but looks like a sweet rig!

Ha ha, he could always get the best of both worlds and get an AMD X2

Thanks, I waas also debating weather not to get a duel core aswell but decided just a 64 would do great for the one reason why I am buying this system.. Planetside. lol I was thinking duel core would be nice to muilt-task but overall I decided that I work on one thing at a time :D.

Also I got pay this weekend so I added another 7800GT to the order as well as WD raptor 150Gb 10k rpm drive. Next I am thinking of getting more ram up to 4gigs.

4 Gigs of ram, 10K RPM HDDs.....nice!

haha I hoping it would be nice :D Yeah the upgrade from 2 to 4 gigs might need to wait since I need to buy a mac I was going to buy a G5 before I found out that they are going to stop making them so right now I am waiting for their next system.

But right now 4 gigs of ram is still a waist but it will no doubt yet you run many programs at once!

You can run Virtual Machines, they can eat some serious ram.

Yeah that ram upgrade would help when designing a brochure at full CMYK res which is 2540Dpi. that could maybe fix into a 50" monitor I need it more for scrolling when at that high setting to pick up errors before it is sent to template form. Since each template is maybe $40.00 each it is more cost effective to spot errors on the computer side of things.

Ok, first of all, I am sick of blue neon and LEDs.

Two, I am considering a 20" or 23" cinema display...

I have a wide screen 20" but I agree with moses LED can suck my right nut, was cool but now over rated. also what kind of mobo do you have? I think that will be pretty much all I will need for the next year + if not I can always get another 7800 and SLI them together. But I don't see why you need anything more than I have :D Condering this will be my second pc under my soon to be mac powermac(when they come out), since this will only be for one game I thought it would be nice.

Yeah, I hate LEDs and see through cases etc. Some case mods are pretty cool, but for the most part, I dont care about them. I don't show my case to anyone, so the only person who sees it is me. Plus I use enough power with fans and drives, so why waste more on the LEDs too.

I get what your saying, but for my situation its perfect. I go to Lan partys and having a pimp case for the same amount as a normal case is a good deal in my opinion. You may think its overdone and perhaps it is, but not in my area. I also work alot at night so not having to turn on the lights in my room is a huge bonus.

And yeah my monitor is friggin' huge due to it being widescreen, and with my setup its in your face, so it seems even bigger. It's perfect for photoshop with my mouse.
