Autistic Teen's Hoop Dreams Come True
Senior Jason McElwain had been the manager of the varsity basketball team of Greece Athena High School in Rochester, N.Y.
McElwain, who's autistic, was added to the roster by coach Jim Johnson so he could be given a jersey and get to sit on the bench in the team's last game of the year.
And, in his first action of the year, McElwain missed his first two shots, but then sank six three-pointers and another shot, for a total of 20 points in three minutes.
I demand that you watch the video as well... The crowd goes nuts in the end...(this is a tear jerker!)

The question still remains for me is, if this kid can play like this, what should be preventing him to play with regular kids?

That's nice. But am I the only one who does not understand the meaning of the the title of this thread? I clicked on it expecting some sort of human calculator.
My question is why didn't the coach put him in all season! Instant offense

I'm assuming you haven't seen Rainman which is about an autistic man (Dustin Hoffman) and his older brother (Tom Cruise). They're reunited because their father dies, but leaves his money to Dustin Hoffman. Something like that.
Anyway, Dustin Hoffman pwns at math in that movie.
