I am a fan of first person shooters, racing games and mind games. Above all else I am a fan of VERY LONG GAMES. With that being said, I am not a fan of such games like Morrowind and previous games of this type. For some reason Bethesda's newest game, Oblivion IV is something I cannot ignore. The game has such depth and storyline that I cannot help but Need this game. The rumor is that the game will take a minimum of 20-25 hours to beat, without side quests and such. With all the side quests followed and beaten, the game could range to over 200+ hours. Yes you read correctly, Two Hundred Hours or more. That is so ridiculous I think that in order to save money, I shall spend money on this game. I shall not leave my house, I shall not need more than water and bread since all my energy shall be spend playing this game.
To begin, the game lets you create a character from scratch. Over time you develop this character with everything you do. Example, if you beat everyone to death, your strength and melee attributes rise. On the other hand if you poison an arrow and shoot an unsuspecting goblin in the head, you get stealth points, added bonus, you cause almost double damage to the enemy. If you pick locks, you gradually become better and better at it. At this point you are probably asking, who cares, a lot of games add that aspect in, maybe not as deep, but are parts of the game nonetheless. Well Mr. Skeptical, the NPC's (computer controlled AI) are on the same playing field you are. They go about their daily routine and live their lives, talking and fighting with other NPC's on their own. Yes having nothing to do with the storyline of the game, how cool is walking around a corner to a few NPC's beating the hell out of each other all the while knowing you can sit back and watch with no consequences to your storyline. Sorry I am a fan of unneeded mayhem. All in all I do believe it shall be these little things that will keep me coming back to this game day after day.
Not to take away from the potential storyline, which I add, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT IS. Rather, I have stayed away from asking, despite if it is available or not. I feel the storyline shall be just as strong as the previous games, with just a little more direction than Morrowind (true reason I stepped away from that game).
I guess when I get to start a game creating a character after anyone's likeness. *"Mr. T" ahem* I cannot help but get excited. Hell I created Yao ming in Top Spin for the hell of it. So yes I will attempt to make a Mr. T look alike. I know I will not be able to due to the Mohawk but I will try damnit!
