A site recently discovered and registered by Microsoft provides us with a few hints that will be unveiled later this week.

Some of the guesses include a new mobile communication device. We do know that Origami was a codename for a new device. Another good guess was a wearible PC that "unfolds" to run a version of windows.

Uh, there's already a video and screens of that project. It's basically a HUGE PDA that runs on genuine Windows software. People were getting all excited that it could run Halo, but when you see the video its playing at like 15 fps. (aka unplayable)

Guessing from the video it doesn't come with a CD rom drive installed, so you'll have to use a usb external. And a price guestimate would be $500 and above, anything lower would be impossible unless Microsoft wants to lose even more billions of dollars.

Oh, and they also show this device using a GPS, well the only way thats possible (unless MS is spending billions of dollars launching satellites) is to attach one of those GPS bricks onto that huge thing and install the software via an external CD Rom drive. The screen also isn't protected, so as a portable device it will be extremely scratched up and its so friggin' huge it won't fit in your pocket unless you have clown pants or you carry a man purse. I am NOT carrying a man purse or backpack wherever I go just to have this thing, just get a small labtop and your good to go. (A labtop would be more powerful, cheaper, and easier to carry and use.)

Basically it's another pointless device that only 10 people will buy, unless Microsoft announces its price at something ridiculous like $100. But for $500 and above its totally not worth it.

That video was made over a year ago.

How could GPS be big? PDAs have GPS and their size is not affected hugely.

I think this device is a cool concept, it's not meant to fit into any category that exists right now, it's supposed to be something new.

And I hate when people spell it LABtop.

I didn't know you called your lap a lab, maybe you have a speech problem.
