February 11, 2003 - Hunter: the Reckoning is returning to the Xbox. Vivendi Universal and Interplay have announced their intentions to deliver another installation in the Hunter saga titled Hunter: The Reckoning Redeemer.
The original Hunter, released shortly after the launch of the Xbox, was a moderately well-received four player hackfest based on White Wolf's Pen and Paper RPGs.
Developed by High Voltage Software, Redeemer will feature an all-new playable character, as well as new enemies, areas, weapons, spells, et cetera ad nauseum. You know, the usual sequel stuff.
Additional exclusive content will theoretically be available over Xbox live.
"The consumers spoke and we listened," said Scot Lane, Executive Producer for Interplay. "Redeemer is set to give gamers more of the frenetic action that was enjoyed in the previous game, along with some major enhancements."
Did gamers actually enjoy the original Hunter enough to make an sequel sucessful? We'll find out this fall.
