View Full Version : My prediction

In the month following March 20th, activity on Nintendo WiFi is going to double. I mean double. They're nearly at one million connections, and I predict another million within four weeks.

Why?

Metroid Prime Hunters.
Tetris DS.
Lost Magic (http://nintendonow.e-mpire.com/index.php?categoryid=4&m_articles_articleid=3502).

All releasing on the exact same day. And these aren't just three games, these are three Triple-A games. In fact, they're more than that: You've got Metroid, a fast-paced shooter, Tetris, a classic-made-modern puzzle game, and Lost Magic, an online RPG. There is, quite literally, something for everyone. I would almost go as far to say that within a few months nearly every DS owner will own at least one of these games.

I think that is a good prediction, but we will have to wait until we see the quality of the wifi connection setup in each of the games. From the way they describe Metroid, it seems like it will be awesome. But if connections drop often or there are other problems... well who knows.

Are you telling me that Tetris DS is an online title?

I currently own all of the DS wifi enabled titles, and with these promising titles it looks like I'm gonna continue buying all of the wifi enabled games.
They all look soo good!

no, actually, i was just reading more about it, it's basically just an offline RPG, but you can duel other wizards with WiFi.

I have all of them... except THAS. I kinda want to buy it just so i can say i have the set but at the same time, i've never like skating games.

Metroid is a must get for me as of now. The online looks friggin insane. VoIP, stat tracking, multiple bounty hunters, multiple original game modes. Like henry said the only thing that could ruin this game is d/c issues. I'm a little shakey though on Lost Magic and Tetris though.

Remember: the game tracks each user's purposeful disconnects. and accidental disconnects are no more likely than on any other wifi game.

Im more sure about getting Tetris DS than Metroid DS. I have no idea why. Probably because I havnt been able to get online with my DS since i got my new router

Then this will be 18 long and hard days for me.

what brand?

also, what difference does a router make between Tetris and Hunters? they're both wifi games.

The DS saw a tremendous boost in sales in Japan when Nintendogs was realeased, they recently even had a shortage... I wonder what Metroid is going to do to the DS in the US and Europe?

Well from what I remember Nintendo was going to release the wifi adaptor thing in stores with MP Hunters. Although it would be an extra 35 bucks, I've heard it works great.

Metroid will definately sell well. It looks like a game that will please mainstream US gamers with the online while still satisfying hardcore gamers.

Lost magic? Dunno. I dont like RPG's unless im doing something. But traditional RpG's are my least favorite genre...

The games are supposed to be released on the 20th, but where I live, the stores only get them in on like Wednesday. Those extra 2 days are going to kill me. I plan on getting both Tetris and Metroid. On that Monday I have the research project from hell due. Then I can enjoy these games. I don't think Nintendo will have a problem keeping the Wifi service up and running. I'm so pumped for these games.

I love RPG games, but this Lost Magic doesnt seem like it will be my kind of game. I dunno, but im not willing to fork out 35 bucks for it.
