If I wanted to put together a line of laptops - how much would it cost.
I've been thinking - Mark up is about 50% a time so if it costs $40 to make a chip then it'll cost $80 to the people who put it into the computer and $160 in the final machine except they mark it up by less due to the nature of their work.
And then there is cost of production.

I'm thinking:-
CPU - 120$
RAM - 20$
HDD (80GB) - 35$
Motherboard - 45$
Screen - 50$
shell - 7$
Power Conversion - 50$
Battery 50$
These are all costs at time of production not buying from the individual makers.

$100 per laptop fee
A system like that $477 to create.
50% markup in shops $900 - $1000

Also does anyone know any companies that build computer systems. E.g. If i wanted to mass product systems, it would cost a hell load to get fabs running, - so does anyone know any companies that would produce a system for me.
