They didn't to remove the heat pad/paste protector foil!

They opened an old and a new 360. Two that have died like so many. Both had the protection foil not removed on the GPU! While the foil itself tranfers heat, it of course doesn't do it as effective as the paste, so without much luck the 360 will die in a few days and with even less luck the foil will tranfer the heat good enough that your box dies after the warranty!

Months of problems and it needs an overclocker to find the source of it. Good I haven't got a 360 till now. They contacted MS, so let's hope MS actually listens and future boxes will not see this problems.

I read this recently. I hope it's not something effecting all units. Hopefully just ones mfg on a certain date perhaps. I played GRAW for 7 hours or more straight the day I got it, didn't have any problems.

Hope mine doesnt mess up though, Oblivion is coming.

I have never had any issues with my console. If this is indeed a problem then Im sure MS will deal with it (after all they lose quite a bit of money constantly replacing defective systems).

Might want to check them anyway, so if you do have a bad one, you can remove the foil and put some thermal paste down and avoid a headache.

An viod your warrenty in the process, I don't think it's worth the risk to check if you have a potential problem.

Mine just had to be sent in for a different problem but maybe the problems are asociated. Cause my xbox 360 was broken the first day I got it.

I also read this earlier. Its such a stupid problem to have. My new one should't have this problem I hope.
